Franklin Armory got the binary trigger approved by ATF on the basis that it fired 1 round on the pull and 1 round on the release of a trigger since each motion counted as one function of the trigger. So in every other non-binary semi automatic trigger, we are experiencing--per ATF--one round per TWO functions of the trigger. FRTs are technically only semi-semi-automatic, really. They actually only fire half as many rounds as they are allowed to under current federal law.
