INDIA LISTEN CLOSELY TO FAWNING TRUMP HERE IN BEIJING SITTING OPPOSITE TO PRESIDENT XI. This isn't a reset in U.S.-China ties. It appears to be Trump managing an increasing disproportionality in great power equations. It reflects sections of D.C.'s ruling establishment recognising that China today may have more immediate economic leverage to offer the U.S. than the other way round. It suggests that, for the time being, America may be putting any pretensions of containing China specifically in the Indo-Pacific on the back burner.
