The EFF Tshwane Caucus has tabled a motion to scrap municipal debt for indigent households, arguing that the poor cannot afford rising tariffs and levies. The caucus views this debt as a symptom of a “fiscal design failure,” in which local governments are underfunded by the national treasury. The EFF Caucus continues to advocate for the cancellation of municipal debt for the poor . The purpose of this motion is to seek Council approval to amend the current Indigent Policy of the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality and to initiate a formal review and amendment process to: ● Recognising households primarily dependent on social grants administered by the South African Social Security Agency as qualifying indigent households, subject to verification; ● Improving equitable access to free basic municipal services; ● Protecting vulnerable households from service disconnections; and ● Aligning indigent support with current socio-economic realities and constitutional obligaions. The EFF motion was passed with majority of 111 votes ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿 .

We are at Blue Valley Mall, we just discovered that the entire complex pays the municipality for only one waste bin out the all the bins that they have in all the stores in the complex.The bins are estimated to be more than 50 in the entire complex but they only pay for one .

The MMC of Health in Tshwane is engaging with the angry community gathered outside Stanza Clinic in Mamelodi. We will engage with anyone who believes they cannot be engaged, because our message must be heard. We are not here to protect illegal foreigners; we are here to confront the health hazards and looming pandemic that threaten us all. Diseases know no nationality. Our commitment is to engage with patience and persistence until this truth is understood and accepted. We need to have a conversation, bring all relevant authorities together, and address the possibility of removing it as a health care facility.

The days of hiding behind apartheid-era leases to escape municipal responsibilities are over. Everyone must pay their fair share, and the City will act without fear or favour. This guys have a 1997 lease . #EFFinGovernment
