Liam Hicks! The Rays are getting 4.5 years of the 27 year-old Marlin backstop. Hicks is a phenomenal contact hitter and is tapping into career best power this year with more pulled flyballs. Career 122 wRC+ vs. RHP. He’s not known for defense but can handle catcher and 1B.

Rays have acquired Ben Williamson (25) from SEA. A 2nd round pick from 2023, he is known for plus infield defense and has played all 3 spots in the minors. He’s slashed .292/.380/.415 (126 wRC+) across his last two years in the minors combined. Good contact, light power skills.

Rays acquired Brett Wisely (26) from ATL. A once long-time Rays prospect is back. He has experience at every non-catcher position and defensive metrics have graded out very well in his short MLB time. Some skills at the plate but the bat has been light in MLB. Out of options.

Rays are bringing up catcher Logan Driscoll (26) today. He was acquired in the trade that brought Manuel Margot to TB back in 2020. He prevents the running game very well, and is posting a 118 wRC+ in 70 games at AAA this season.
