The Holy Spirit lives on the inside of you, and He is your bridegroom, so when you take part in behaviors, thoughts, or words that aren’t in alignment with His way, He feels cheated the same way a husband would if his wife had committed adultery. Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit by cheating on Him with the ways of the world. Instead ask yourself what words, actions, and thoughts will bring blessings and joy to the One who lives inside of you!

Jesus warned that vast multitudes within the Christian community would experience something sobering at the end of the age — their love would “wax cold.” Jesus was describing a cold wind that would blow through the Church, causing believers to cool spiritually, and we’re seeing the effects today. People no longer gather as they once did. They aren’t as on fire for the Lord as they used to be. They are compromising convictions they once held firmly — adopting new mindsets, becoming more “inclusive,” more “open-minded.” My friends, it is good to be open-minded — but don’t be so open-minded that your brain falls out. This is a moment to guard your heart, stay anchored in truth, and keep your spiritual fire burning. — Rick Renner

All four gospels were written by different individuals, but they are not different stories. Three of them were written from the authors’ own memories, though Mark actually transcribed the gospel as told by Peter, making it, in essence, Peter’s gospel. Matthew, Mark, and Luke are called the synoptic gospels because they share so many similarities, but it is only with all four that you get the complete picture. Each one offers its own unique perspective and flavor, and I encourage you to read them all as they are all wonderful! — Rick Renner
