Due to statutory restrictions, the reconciliation bill cannot directly eliminate the tax on Social Security, but the $4,000 tax credit will provide Seniors much-needed relief. Congressman Hamadeh has co-sponsored Thomas Massie's H.R. 1040, the Senior Citizens Tax Elimination Act, to eliminate the federal income tax on Social Security benefits and further ease this burden.
