Why are suppressors — a basic safety tool — so heavily regulated? The unconstitutional National Firearms Act of 1934 implemented burdensome regulations and a $200 tax on suppressors. Over 90 years later, that tax still exists. It was never about safety — it was about control. Last night, Ways and Means Committee passed my provision to cut that tax to $0. This is step one in tearing down the unconstitutional NFA. We’re just getting started.

I was proud to lead the fight to secure a major victory for the gun owners in President Donald J. Trump’ One Big, Beautiful Bill. The Second Amendment is not a second-class right. Registration and fingerprinting are inconsistent with our Constitutional liberties, and the NFA is an illegal poll tax used as a piggy bank for the federal government. My provision to eliminate the $200 tax on certain NFA items paves the way for dismantling the unconstitutional National Firearms Act. Thank you, Joey Jones for celebrating this Second Amendment victory on The Five Fox News!
