While the worshippers’ heads were bowed and their eyes closed, the man opened his, and he slaughtered them in an attempt to start a race war. Let us honor the memory of the Emanuel Nine by redoubling our efforts to combat the scourge of racism and by continuing to push for common-sense gun safety laws that help keep firearms out of the wrong hands.
