Republicans can redistrict all they want ahead of the midterms, but if they actually want to keep the House and Senate, Senate Republicans need to pass the SAVE America Act this week and codify Trump’s agenda. CNN seems to have forgotten Tennesseans were paying over $4 a gallon not long ago. I just filled up for $2.23, and President Trump hasn’t even been back in office a full year. Wait until January. As the first quarter of 2026 kicks in and President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill takes effect, tax cuts like no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and auto deductibility start putting money back in your pocket. Trump is making life affordable again for every American.

Our base should not have to beg U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell and Leader John Thune to pass something as critical as securing and safeguarding our elections. Period. I can't think of anything more arrogant than ignoring the will of the people, especially when they're the ones who gave us majorities in the House and Senate. This inaction will not only cost us in the midterms but will also cost our republic.

If I were Leader John Thune, I’d be telling GOP Senators to get back to Washington today, and by close of business, we’d take a vote on the SAVE Act. It’s unthinkable that the Senate is out of session this week while over 80% of Americans support nationwide voter ID, and we have a bill sitting on Leader Thune’s desk to implement it. Our GOP majority should codify the President’s agenda, and that starts with passing voter ID laws, not ignoring the will of the people.

I’m not about to let the media or Democrats take credit for putting out the fire they started, that’s why I joined CNN to correct the record. Democrats can’t burn down the economy, trigger the worst inflation spiral in my adult lifetime, hike taxes, and then blame the firefighters for trying to put out the flames. That’s exactly why President Trump calls their so-called “affordability” argument a HOAX — and he’s absolutely right.

Here's a little history lesson on the INFLATION spiral that the Democrats don’t want you to know: 1) I’m old enough to remember Jimmy Carter’s 9.85% inflation and the economic spiral that followed. It took Ronald Reagan over SIX years to get it under control. 2) What Joe Biden and the Democrats in Congress did in the first two years of his term set off inflation — it peaked at 9.1%, numbers we haven’t seen since I was a senior in high school. 3) It takes time to put that fire out once it’s set. President Trump’s the fireman. He’s on the scene, putting the fire out, and he’s already got inflation DOWN to 2.7%. 4) Now the Democrats are showing up to blame the fireman when they’re the arsonists who started this fire.

Here’s the TRUTH Democrats don’t want you to hear about Joe Biden’s inflation legacy: 1) Cumulative Biden-era inflation reached 20% and inflation peaked at 9.1% in June 2022. When President Trump left office, inflation was just 1.4%. 2) This economic disaster ranks second only to the Carter-era inflation of the late 1970s, which collapsed U.S. living standards. 3) It took SIX years under President Reagan to clean up the mess Jimmy Carter left behind & now President Trump is being forced to do the same after Joe Biden. 4) Democrats running to bring down the cost of living is a bit like the arsonist offering to put out the fire.
