We came to Delaney Hall today to simply do our jobs—we were met with aggression and disrespect. Members of Congress are permitted *by law* to go into ICE facilities and make sure they’re up to par. We came to see if the rights of the 100+ detainees were being upheld.

I’ll say it again: the greatest threat to the homeland right now is DHS under Kristi Noem’s control. Just last week, a parent in NJ-10 was detained by ICE after ordering food for his 6-year-old daughter. When her dad didn’t come home, the little girl was found crying and wandering for hours outside, parentless.

We came to Delaney Hall to do our job: Oversight. Like we’ve done many times before. We didn’t come for chaos or to “break people out,” we came for transparency. ICE’s reckless and aggressive response was an attempt to stop us from doing what the people of NJ elected us to do.
