Heavy day today in Minnesota. After our oversight hearing led by Rep. Pramila Jayapal and Rep. Ilhan Omar, we visited the memorial site for Renee Nicole Good. ICE has terrorized this community and so many others across the country. But we’re also seeing a remarkable display of resilience and humanity from neighbors here. Heading back home to Phoenix with more resolve to protect one another during these trying times.

Five months ago today, the United States bombed an elementary school in Minab, Iran, killing at least 156 people, including 120 children. War crimes must be investigated. We need the full truth about what happened, including the role AI played and why officials were ordered to move at extraordinary speed without verifying intelligence. The Trump regime must release the investigation and we must hold those responsible accountable.

My constituents don’t support Trump’s illegal war. Arizona gas prices are already nearing $5/gallon. While this administration spends $2B a day on war, it just ripped away Medicaid and SNAP from millions of Americans. 13 U.S. service members have been killed, and thousands of Marines are now heading to the Middle East—appearing to prepare for boots on the ground. Americans don’t support this. Meanwhile, on day one of this war, the U.S. bombed a children’s school. That’s a war crime. More than 1,200 Iranian civilians have already been killed, and dozens of hospitals, water plants, and oil refineries have been hit—damage that will have catastrophic health impacts for years to come—all after tens of thousands of Iranians were massacred by their own brutal regime. We need mass, peaceful protests across this country - at scale. Right now. Nobody is coming to save us. Justice for Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. Justice for Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Justice for the tens of thousands of people locked up in ICE detention centers, abused and denied basic dignity. Justice for the people we’ve shackled and deported back to violence, repression, or to third countries they have no connection to. If this doesn’t move us into the streets, what will?

Once again, a detainee at the Eloy Detention Center told me about how they're being abused and tortured here. Chlorinated water, worms in fountains, food that looks like vomit, people getting sick, and working for $3/day while getting harassed and threatened by staff. I'll have more to say about my 11th oversight visit to Eloy, but I'm going to keep fighting to drain the $250B that ICE has secured to keep treating people like slaves.
