Mom, First Chicana from AZ in Congress, Proudly representing #AZ07. Fighting for justice and opportunity.

If federal agents are brazen enough to fire pellets directly at a Member of Congress, imagine how they behave when encountering defenseless members of our community. It’s time for Congress to rein in this rogue agency NOW.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a Republican or a Democrat: everyone deserves access to affordable healthcare. Congress must act to extend ACA subsidies and prevent healthcare costs from skyrocketing.

Proud to stand with my family, my community, and people across the country calling for accountability and an end to harmful ICE enforcement. We stand with Minnesota and won’t stay silent.

ICE just conducted a raid by Taco Giro in Tucson - a small mom-and-pop restaurant that has served our community for years. When I presented myself as a Member of Congress asking for more information, I was pushed-aside and pepper sprayed.

I am deeply concerned for the safety of Ahmed Soliman after he was deported to Equatorial Guinea and subsequently arrested by local authorities. We need answers immediately. Read more about Ahmed here:

ICE is a lawless agency under this Administration – operating with no transparency, no accountability, and open disregard for basic due process. No family in our community should live in fear, and I will not rest until we get clear answers and accountability.

🚨 BREAKING: Bulldozers are tearing through protected lands — just 0.7 miles from Quitobaquito Springs. And they’re getting closer. THIS IS TRIBAL LAND. It does not belong to Trump. Video Credit: Russ McSpadden, Center for Biological Diversity

Ahmed Soliman was deported from Arizona to Equatorial Guinea — a country he has no connection to. After speaking out about horrific detention conditions, he was hooded, beaten, and hospitalized. Yet the Supreme Court just allowed the Trump administration to resume third-country deportations. This is shameful and illegal.

Just finished a surprise Congressional oversight visit at a temporary ICE holding site in Mesa, AZ. The conditions are absolutely horrific. No human being should be treated this way.

I just got done visiting with Karla Toledo at an ICE facility in Tucson. Karla is a DACA recipient with legal status in this country who is a beloved member of our community. Karla must be released immediately, and ICE must stop terrorizing our communities.

CoreCivic, a for-profit company, is receiving $15 million from taxpayers every month to hold children and families in detention. That's not just inhumane - it's immoral.

Tonight, I took to the House floor to address the illegal Border Patrol raid of a humanitarian aid station near Arivaca. Migrants have rights. Humanitarian aid is NOT a crime.

This message is for @Sec_Noem: Nogales is a vibrant border community, not a prop for your anti-immigrant agenda. Your recklessness has cost lives. We don’t need that energy here. Go home — and while you’re at it, RESIGN!

Republicans’ obsession with gender identity and culture wars is hurting communities and wasting time we should spend addressing real issues — like investing in our students and educators.

House Republicans just ripped $650,000 away from the Copper Queen Library in Bisbee — money meant for basic repairs — because the library hosted two drag shows. This library hosts HUNDREDS of community events a year. Punishing an entire community over culture war nonsense is pathetic. Public libraries belong to all of us, not just the far-right politicians throwing tantrums over drag queens.

Today at the Defend Tucson Rally I made it clear: I didn’t go to Washington to be quiet — I went to fight for the people of Arizona. Together, as a community, we will always stand up for each other and defend our families!

ICE is a lawless agency with zero accountability. Today in Tucson and Sahuarita, I joined community members protesting ICE and the murder of Renee Nicole Good. We cannot allow this injustice to stand.

One month ago, ICE illegally entered the home of Karla Toledo - a DACA recipient with no criminal record - and put her in detention. DHS already asked immigration court to dismiss Karla's deportation case and the court granted the request. But now, they've reversed course and started the process all over again. DHS needs to stop playing games with the life of Karla, and other DREAMers like her. #IStandWithKarla
