Good morning Citi Bike Lyft, It pains me to report that the attached video appears to show former NYC Comptroller, congressional candidate, and the Panderista of Park Slope Brad Lander, native of St Louis, riding a Citi Bike through a crosswalk and proceeding through two steady red lights. I was under the impression that Citi Bike members agree to follow NYC traffic laws — including no riding in crosswalks and full stops at red lights — particularly those who regularly lecture the public about “street safety.” I assume rules apply evenly, and that traffic laws are not a sliding scale based on job title, press conference frequency, or number of transportation policy panels attended. Please review the video and advise whether this conduct complies with Citi Bike’s user agreement. If not, I trust appropriate action will be taken. In a city that is very enthusiastic about enforcement, consistency would be refreshing. cc: NYC DOT

ANOTHER NYC SUBWAY STABBING It's a good time to remember that Governor Kathy Hochul will introduce a new subway safety plan that state legislature may approve in April. Until then, you're on your own. A subway stabber w 87 previous arrests is still at large.

THE MAMDANI TAX PLAN WAS ALREADY TRIED IN 2021; IT DIDN'T LEAVE TO AN IMPROVEMENT IN QUALITY OF LIFE, CLEANER STREETS, AND IMPROVED PUBLIC SAFETY In 2021, New York State quietly enacted one of the largest tax hikes in its history. The top personal income tax rate jumped from 8.82% to 10.9% for those earning over $25M - and 10.3% for those over $5M - giving New York one of the highest state tax rates in America. At the same time, the corporate tax rate rose from 6.5% to 7.25% for companies with more than $5M in income. Albany called it “shared sacrifice.” Albany called it “fair share.” Not only did these tax increases fail to improve the quality of life, it also led to record outmigration, shrinking business investment, and the continued erosion of New York’s tax base.

OMG 'NON CLUMPING CLAY KITTY LITTER' KATHY HOCHUL IS GIVING MORE SNOW TIPS WITH YOUR TAX DOLLARS This person should be working at the American Automobile Association ; not in charge of a state with a $260B annual budget with an $2.3T+ economy and 19.43M residents.

IT'S DAY 9 IN NYC POST-STORM AND... Human rights violations against bicyclists continue as bike lanes remain unlawfully occupied At least 16 people are dead; victims of a willful genocide carried about by an administration governing through neglect and lethal policy choices. Thousands in the commie corridor are left without power with hope of restoration fading fast.. Garbage, compost, and household refuse are piling up to unsustainable and unsanitary levels. At this point, someone should notify the United Nations - NYC appears to require humanitarian aid.

Hey NYC Human Rights NYS Division of Human Rights the NYC Department of Transportation Alternatives Commissioner declared "bicycling is a human right". Unfortunately, this bicycle lane, maintained (in theory) by the City of New York, has been entirely abandoned. Given the City’s own framing, I would like to formally report this as a human rights violation and request escalation so that this injustice may finally be remedied. Human rights should not be seasonal, optional, or dependent.

WSJ BEST SELLING AUTHOR VICIOUSLY ASSAULTED IN THE UPPER EAST SIDE In her words: On Wednesday, May 14th, around 10:30am I was punched in the head by a passing stranger. I wasn’t going to post this as a reel... but there are a few pieces of the story I hadn’t shared and I think they are important for my UES community and fellow NYers to know. FIRST. I wasn’t on my phone when it happened. I wasn’t distracted. It wasn’t an unsafe hour. I even made note of the guy when I saw him, but it wasn’t until I saw a strange flick in his hand (you can see in the footage) that I realized something wasn’t right. SECOND. The police took apprx 30 min to arrive and once they did, even after showing the video with the guy shouting threats, acted like it wasn’t a big deal. I remember saying, “So since I’m not bleeding, a punch to the head is ok?!” THIRD. When I refused to back down and only after I told them I had a headache… They agreed to go to the address the man shouted in the video and MADE ME GO WITH THEM, despite having video footage clearly identifying him. I can’t describe how terrifying that was. Maybe they were hoping I’d refuse and give up? FINALLY. The cops did NOT get the security footage, WE did. The cops walked into the nail salon when I pointed out the camera, but said only the owner had access to the footage. Michael, my husband, went back later and the salon happily put him in touch with the owner who immediately found the footage and sent it to him. It took five minutes. I am so grateful it wasn’t worse. I’m grateful it was me and not someone who couldn’t take the hit or the fall. I’m hopeful the man gets the help and services he clearly needs. And I’m heartbroken and furious that this is how it is—so much apathy. Stay safe and stay aware. And if it happens to you, don’t let anyone convince you to let it go. The problem is SO big and SO layered but pretending nothing can be done is not the solution. I ❤️🩹 NYC.
