Tried to son Big Sean, Jay Electronica, Drake & Meek Mill on this verse, all of whom he called out by name in his Control verse 4 years earlier. Yet somehow, the extreme members of his fanbase claim Drake was the only one that got in his feelings about that verse. This thing Kendrick does of pretending he’s buddy buddy with people to their face, accepting invites into their circles without returning the favor, then dissing them on remixes, loosies, and features so he can share the platform or find a convenient caveat after the fact, is wolf in sheep’s clothing behavior. A lot of his “boogeyman” persona actually just involves him being two-faced and fake rather than being outwardly savage and real about it.
