I want you to watch this clip. Joe Rogan brings up the UFC fighter saying Michelle Obama is a man. Vance says he couldn't believe that this ended up being national news. Rogan responds: "Well, I kind of understand it because it's at the White House..." Thank about this exchange. Vance is trying to be a "cool guy" in front of Rogan. Look, I may be the vice president, but I curse just like you do, and also have questions about UFOs and the Epstein files. But it's not like I can find the documents, bro, they got rid of that stuff a long time ago. Rogan is the guy who has to remind him that maybe we should have some standards in society. Vance tries to hold his ground, but Rogan finally shouts him down that this isn't something you should be saying at the White House. It's like when a kid is trying to impress the cool crowd, and he goes too far, and they have to be like settle down. Vance is desperate to be accepted into Rogan's world. But he goes so far that Rogan has to stand up for civility and maintaining standards. Vance craves acceptance from father-like figures. It is painful to watch. It's not an accident that he became Trump's lackey. He was made for this role.

As I tell Coleman Hughes: "I think if an alien were coming to earth, and they were studying America and Europe, the last 20-30 years, they would say these are the best run societies in human history." This is what populists don't understand. Stop listening to grifters.

JD Vance: "Back in 2018, 2020, we reached sort of the peak of academic censorship...Epstein we know was funding a ton of scientists...When he died, it's almost like the era of censorship started to break." Vance is literally saying that wokeness came from Jeffrey Epstein! He was personally making the universities adopt DEI and land acknowledgments. This isn't Vance going along with Rogan's conspiracy theories, stuff about UFOs, etc. No. Vance is an original thinker! He's a contributor to the field of conspiracies. He's making connections that even Rogan wouldn't make. There is something deeply wrong with this man. He wanted power so desperately that every critical faculty he once had has been weakened or destroyed. Or maybe he's just lying? I don't know. That would explain going along with conspiracies. Why is he inventing new ones? Just to be more credible to these people? Even Rogan seems not to buy this one. Notice he credits this theory to a "friend." This strikes me as making it more likely to be legitimate. Vance does spend a lot of time speaking to people are just as nuts as he is and taking what they say seriously. It's genuinely and shockingly distributing a man could be like this. Every time I think his commentary can't get any stupider, Vance surprises me.

I like this video because it demonstrates how you can be the exact same guy doing the exact same thing and get wildly different reactions from women, from creeped out to curious to googly-eyed giggles. The key is not to be that invested in any particular interaction.

Vance Boelter’s roommate reads a text from him. The roommate confirms he was a Trump supporter, says that no one would believe he did this. This is often the case in ideological killings. If you take pro-life dogma seriously, something like this makes logical sense.

How stupid is Nick Shirley? He tells interviewer Andrew Callaghan that he lost respect for him for not denouncing the killing of Charlie Kirk. Callaghan responds that he did, and Shirley admits he didn’t watch the relevant video because he doesn’t want to since he already decided that Callaghan didn’t denounce the killing of Charlie Kirk. My head hurts from watching this moron. More on Shirley’s unbearable stupidity here:

My entire timeline now is the fake Chinese caste system invented by Indians, full of lurid sex fantasies. Never seen a topic take over like this. The sheer populations of these countries broke the algorithm. This is like hitting rock bottom to get off the ForYou tab.

I explain why populism is bad: it's another form of identity politics. "Liberalism at least in theory,,,tries to get away from that. Populism completely embraces it." Tribalism is universal, but the people who make it a virtue are much worse than those who fight against it.

Congressman Tim Burchett tells Rogan about a moon around Saturn or Jupiter that is bigger than earth and is related to UFOs. Gets factchecked by Rogan, who says he doesn't think there are any moons that big. Burchett says ok, I'm wrong, but then mentions quantum physics for some reason and starts wondering what's at the bottom of the ocean. This is the level of thought you get from congressmen into UFOs. No actual logic connects their speculations. They just throw nonsense out there and then move on to other nonsense.
