If you are a lifelong slicer of the driver, chances are your head is moving to the target too much in your downswing. This concept of waiting for your trail shoulder to bring your head through will help you to stay shallower and release the club more, fixing that slice. If

DRIVER RELEASE My good friend put up a great video of this drill as well recently (check it out on his IG). This is an excellent way to feel the driver releasing and hitting up on the ball. Too often, the players struggling to square up the face of the driver are opening up

The “NO KNEES” backswing feel 👀 This player’s lower body was doing WAY too much in the backswing. ❌ Too straight at address ❌ Knees moving excessively ❌ Lower body over-rotating early ❌ Trail knee fully straight by halfway back We made 2 simple changes: 1️⃣ Added more knee flexion + forward shin angle at setup. 2️⃣ Had him feel like his knees didn’t move AT ALL in the backswing. The result? Much more stability in the lower body, allowing him to focus on turning with his upper body while keeping his lower body “glued” to the ground. And despite the quieter knees, we still got plenty of lower-body rotation. Sometimes the best way to create more rotation is to stop trying to rotate the lower body. Watch the before & after 👇

Wrist Masterclass The wrists are arguably what matters most in whether your golf ball goes any where close to where you intend. After all, club face is the biggest influencer of start line and grip is the biggest influencer of club face. Learning a good grip, or at least a match up that will allow your particular grip to function, is essential to developing directional control. What we all want is predictability. We want to be able to aim to a given location, make a swinging motion, strike the ball well, and watch it travel somewhat near said location. To be predictable, our grip and our wrist motions must make sense! Comment ‘WRISTS’ if you want to see the full video!

Squaring The Face Controlling your golf ball is all about managing the club face. Understanding the how the arms will influence the club face is key. The lead arm will have some internal rotation in the backswing, therefore we will need to add external rotation to this arm through the release. If we fail to do this, we will leave the face open and often bring in more chicken wing/scoop patterns through contact. Learning to externally rotate the lead arm will help you keep a flat lead wrist and deliver a stronger loft. If you’re a player who tends to slice or fade the ball, this concept will help you to feel what you need to square it up. I just posted the full version of this lesson on the ProShopApp!!! Comment “SQUARE” if you’d like access to the video.

Where should the hands travel through impact? The hands should begin arcing inwards and upwards as the club head is delivered through contact. Even if your intent is to hit little draws, you still want the hands traveling inwards through the strike. When the hands continue to

This clip was taken from a lesson to one of my online students. We were talking about the optional movement through the transition to get the club traveling from the best possible route in the downswing. Let me know what you think!! If you’d like help with your game, check

LEGS IN THE DOWNSWING If you are curious about what is happening from the hips down in the downswing, this video is for you. As we start our movement towards the target, it’s important we don’t go into hip extension too early (Early Extension). There should be a phase where we get back into flexion, before extending to the target. It’s essential to know that extension is powerful, especially when it occurs at the right time in the right direction. This clip was taken from an online lesson to one of my Skillest subscribers. Try this out and let me know how it goes! #golf #golfcoaching #golfinstruction #riggsgolf

As a coach, I’m a massive fan of players having calibration strategies to ensure they are setting up as close to the same as possible day to day / week to week. This one, I picked up from when he noticed, while watching me hit driver, that I was standing a fraction too close to

Comment ‘CRUSH’ and I’ll send you 3 drills to level up your ball striking. Most golfers struggle with their lead arm breaking down in the downswing. This leads to scooping and delivering a weaker loft. Players are loosing distance as a result of this. Lead arm only training

How you load determines how you will unload. If we can improve how we load into our trail side in the backswing, it will dramatically help how we sequence our downswing. It’s really difficult to change downswing movement sequencing consciously. Learning how to move better going

SHANK FIX Now there are several causes of shanks, but one thing for certain, shanks are when the hossel of the club is delivered into the ball instead of the sweet spot. When on the course, if you suffer from one of these unfortunate shots, there are some “on the fly” strategies you can bring in, to prevent them from happening again. This video dives into a very easy practice swing that will give you the exact feel you need to have to avoid the heel of the club. In addition to this swing feel, have the thought to strike it on the toe of the club is also advisable. This will get you back to the sweet spot, where you want to be! Try this out and let me know how it goes! Parsons Xtreme Golf Skillest #golf #golfcoaching #golfinstruction #pxgtroops
