We know that some of the issues in Nairobi are structural and historical, but a good governor must have a disaster team ready to assist when it strikes. A good governor doesn't turn the county assembly speaker into his goon or youthwinger. A good governor can easily mobilise 500 young and energetic men and women to be trained on rescue from each of the 17 sub-counties. We can have a working team to help reduce the pain of a disaster. But a lazy governor hates MCAs who demand that he do better. Nairobi, don't elect someone because he can say TIBIM and TIALALA or he has dimples. Get someone who can make the city workable, livable and sustainable. You only need the city to have those 3 characterestics for you to have the convenience and comfort.

I wish to condole with the family of Jacob Oyoko who was killed in the boxing ring by one Julius Okuruchi. The death of Jacob would have been prevented had the Kenya Professional Boxing Commission (KPBC) chaired by Reuben Ndolo and the promoters of the tournament payed attention to the safety and needs of the players. The conduct of the KBF officials and referee in the whole match is questionable. I wish to ask DCI KENYA to immediately launch investigations into the unfortunate incident and have all those who committed acts of omissions and commissions arrested and charged with appropriate criminal offences. Jacob Oyoko was murdered.
