RESCUED: Marcello the Parsons Terrier, who almost died this week after crazy laws stopped him being rescued for two days. Stephen Smith from Bleasby, Newark was walking his two dogs on Monday when they both ran off. One came back, but Marcello had found his way into a badger sett. Stephen could hear him barking from the sett but couldn't reach him. Seeking help from the fire brigade and others he discovered it could be a CRIME to dig the poor pup out. Apparently, he needed a special license from Natural England (a government quango) to even attempt a rescue. He applied to the body but was getting nowhere – hearing literally nothing as his dog was trapped. Thankfully, he got in touch with me. My office was straight onto them, and finally they answered. Once the emergency license was approved, Notts Fire & Rescue, supervised by the police, could finally go in to save him. They were absolutely brilliant, as you can see from the video! Poor Marcello had been there for 48 hours without water, food, or light, but he was OK. I'm so glad Marcello is home and happy, but these laws seem mad to me. I'm going to try to lay an amendment to the Badger Act in Parliament in the Autumn to make clear that the Fire Brigade can save dogs and pets if they ever get trapped underground. Perhaps we can call it Marcello's Law!

They tried to knock us down. We’re still standing. Let’s get Britain standing again.

Dodgy barbers, vape shops, and candy stores are ruining our towns. The owner of this barbershop in Kent was convicted of drug smuggling. But it’s still here, claiming that it’s “open”. The problem isn’t just about organised crime – these shops make high streets look messy and crowd out legitimate businesses. Today, Zia Yusuf has announced Reform’s plan to stop all this. It will mean: Mandatory prison sentences and huge fines for employing illegals, sending in the police and letting the public help identify the dodgy operators. Shutting these places down will be just the start; we’ll help you set up a business too - with no VAT until £150k, lower taxes for employing Brits, more police and no business rates at all for pubs. It’s time to get our high streets back!

If Burnham wins, a million low skilled migrants will be allowed to stay and get British citizenship in the next few years. And he won’t stop the boats. Instead he will put them in bedsits on your street. To pay for it all? He’ll have to hike your taxes.

The Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Zaker Choudhry, declared “Kashmir is ours." By “ours” he means Pakistan’s. What’s that got do with the people of Birmingham he’s supposed to represent? Choudhry is ostensibly a well-integrated immigrant. But even his primary loyalty is to a foreign country. We must dismantle the disastrous multicultural project that has torn our country apart and reassert our national identity again. Only Reform UK will stand up for British interests and British people alone.
