Tsuruta called MONSTER for a reason!

This is what I call a HARD HITTING match

Coolest AJPW vs. NJPW match EVER!

I love Kawada selling and Kobashi lariat! #ajpw #小橋建太 #川田利明

"Doc came up to me early and said, ‘Watch what I do for him.’ He beat Kobashi… but right before the finish, Kobashi kicked out of the Oklahoma Stampede. Doc knew what Kobashi was going to be. Everyone really did." - Dave Meltzer

Literally, no one knows for sure why Jun Akiyama, as the creator, stopped using "Blue Thunder Driver" in 2000

The greatest Lariat of all time?

Your brain knows Kobashi can’t win. But the moment he lands that German Suplex, you’re counting to three with the crowd like it’s real. That’s pro-wrestling. #ajpw #小橋建太 #ジャンボ鶴田

Nice try, Sabu! But it's not going to work on Stan Hansen! #ajpw #スタン・ハンセン #サブゥー

That move is the last thing you'd expect from the portly and clumsy Stan Hansen #ajpw #スタン・ハンセン

Emerald Flowsion Kai! #noah_ghc #三沢光晴 #田上明

Moment that perfectly demonstrates WHY Giant Baba is one of the most popular wrestlers in Japanese pro-wrestling history! #ajpw #ジャイアント馬場 #三沢光晴

THIS IS PRO-WRESTLING! #ajpw #川田利明 #橋本真也

Goosebumps! #noah_ghc #田上明 #丸藤正道

Back in Kings Road era, fans would stomp their feet so hard that the cameras would shake. There’s even a term for this: Heavy Bass Stomping Attack! It’s so sad that it’s gone… #ajpw #小橋建太 #三沢光晴

This LARIAT from Takeshi Morishima! He really did it like a monster… #noah_ghc #森嶋猛 #KENTA

The original Shining Wizard looks so dangerous! #ajpw #武藤敬司 #川田利明

Mitsuharu Misawa vs. Jinsei Shinzaki - 11.10.1998 It's an interesting enough matchup. I felt more like watching a Japanese indie show from those years than All Japan. I would call it a clash of styles. A different take on the world of pro-wrestling

22 years ago today - Genichiro Tenryu & Katsuhiko Nakajima vs. Toshiaki Kawada & Taichi Today, that match may have packed full Nippon Budokan, but for those times, it was a matchup of legendary veterans and rookies #ajpw

So cool sequence!

I have NO IDEA how Stan Hansen didn’t break Kikuchi in half!

28 years ago today - Kiyoshi Tamura vs. Yoshihisa Yamamoto That confrontation in which mutual sports hatred produced perfect chemistry. #RINGS

Go Shiozaki vs. Yuma Anzai - 12.04.2026 What a match! I haven't seen Shiozaki in such good form in a long time. He's moving really well. His chemistry with Anzai and the way he treats him like senior is really cool #ajpw #潮﨑豪 #安齊勇馬

22 years ago today - Kenta Kobashi vs. Jun Akiyama, 5 stars by WON Legendary wrestlers. Intense rivalry. Largest arena! Perfect build, escalation, layout with extremely layered storytelling and physical condition limit #noah_ghc

22 years ago today - Kenta Kobashi vs. Yoshihiro Takayama Peak! Absolutely, one of the most PHYSICAL matches I've ever seen. Doctors had forbidden Kobashi from doing a moonsault, but he decided that this was an exception #noah_ghc #小橋建太 #高山善廣

28 years ago today - Kenta Kobashi vs. Jun Akiyama If you think this is the best match in history, I won’t argue with you. It was so controversial that Giant Baba was strict about the match — Baba felt Kobashi showed himself as a vulnerable champion #ajpw

29 years ago today - Kenta Kobashi vs. Mitsuharu Misawa "The Difference Between Champion and Ace". This match was a very big contributor to pro-wrestling in terms of building epic matches. Pretty much everyone is following this structure. It's standard. #ajpw #小橋建太 #三沢光晴

35 years ago today - Kenta Kobashi vs. Stan Hansen Hidden gem! Great match with a perfect start and finish. This is HOW veterans should promote new stars. The final Lariat is one of the most beautiful in history… #ajpw 小橋建太 (KENTA KOBASHI)

Few people guess why "Blue Thunder Driver" is called that. The name came because of Jun Akiyama blue attire. Akiyama = Blue Thunder. I still think a lot of people don't realize how HUGE Akiyama legacy is! #ddtpro #ajpw #秋山準

Perfect moment. One of the rarest times someone kicked out of Western Lariat. When Stan Hansen adjusted his elbow pad, the entire arena started shaking! #ajpw #スタン・ハンセン #小橋建太

27 years ago today - Kiyoshi Tamura vs. Yoshihisa Yamamoto Legendary confrontation in world of shoot style! There was a sporting grudge between them, which spilled over into masterpieces in the ring. #RINGS #田村潔司 #山本宜久

It was peak of modern All Japan

Every puroresu fan has discussed this match... but THIS moment still hits different. Dream match. Tokyo Dome. Two generational icons. Both hit their finishers, stand back up, trade LARIATS, and both go down. Goosebumps!

This is why Katsuhiko Nakajima is demon!

The moment that broke Mitsuharu Misawa character! #noah_ghc #三沢光晴

36 years ago today - Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Mitsuharu Misawa “The Boy Who Defeated Ace” - headlines that day! This is one of the most important matches in the history of Japanese pro-wrestling #ajpw #ジャンボ鶴田 #三沢光晴

Still one of my favorite sequences ever! #ajpw #秋山準 #三沢光晴

22 years ago today - Genichiro Tenryu & Katsuhiko Nakajima vs. Toshiaki Kawada & Taichi Today, that match may have packed full Nippon Budokan, but for those times, it was a matchup of legendary veterans and rookies #ajpw
