Literally, no one knows for sure why Jun Akiyama, as the creator, stopped using "Blue Thunder Driver" in 2000

Your brain knows Kobashi can’t win. But the moment he lands that German Suplex, you’re counting to three with the crowd like it’s real. That’s pro-wrestling. #ajpw #小橋建太 #ジャンボ鶴田

Mitsuharu Misawa vs. Jinsei Shinzaki - 11.10.1998 It's an interesting enough matchup. I felt more like watching a Japanese indie show from those years than All Japan. I would call it a clash of styles. A different take on the world of pro-wrestling

28 years ago today - Kenta Kobashi vs. Jun Akiyama If you think this is the best match in history, I won’t argue with you. It was so controversial that Giant Baba was strict about the match — Baba felt Kobashi showed himself as a vulnerable champion #ajpw

Few people guess why "Blue Thunder Driver" is called that. The name came because of Jun Akiyama blue attire. Akiyama = Blue Thunder. I still think a lot of people don't realize how HUGE Akiyama legacy is! #ddtpro #ajpw #秋山準

Every puroresu fan has discussed this match... but THIS moment still hits different. Dream match. Tokyo Dome. Two generational icons. Both hit their finishers, stand back up, trade LARIATS, and both go down. Goosebumps!
