The years ahead: water will be scarce — irrigation technologies will still need water to operate. There is no option. We must stop encroachment on wetlands and the decimation of forests. Water catchments must be preserved. The EUDR agenda in the coffee sector must be a priority. The future of farmers, of many, and of countries is at stake. This September heat wave across Uganda is unprecedented — but the trendline over the years has been clear. The next crisis like in America’s or Europe is the fires!! The response must be meta (the full force of government and people working in concert).
