So, the Utah County Commission, in a brazen fulfillment of their so-called constitutional obligations, rushed to ink a contract with seasoned defense shark Kathryn Nester on September 24, 2025. Meanwhile, County Attorney Jeff Gray, our equivalent to a DA, is clamoring for extra prosecutorial muscle to stack the deck, but the defense pick falls squarely to the commission, not him directly. This sham setup pretends to guarantee a "qualified" defense while supposedly honoring the sacred right to counsel under the U.S. and Utah Constitutions. Make no mistake. They're engineering this entire farce to rig the court system from the ground up.
