R.D. Burman created the artificial sound of a running train in the song by rubbing pieces of sandpaper together (along with bamboo sticks). The melody is tuned in Raag Durga. Zamane ko dikhana hai 1981 Padmini Kolhapure and Rishi Kapoor perform the song while riding on the roof of a train, making it one of the early iconic Bollywood train-top musical sequences (predating later examples like Dil Se's "Chaiyya Chaiyya"). While the soundtrack sung by Shailendra Singh was a massive chartbuster, the movie itself was a box office failure. Rishi Kapoor later reflected that the movie flopped because it lacked a strong storyline, relying too heavily on a string of great music videos laced together over an outdated formula. Nasir Hussain's son, Mansoor Khan (who later directed massive hits like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar), had just returned from studying abroad and was put in charge of managing the innovative disco lighting and tech setups for this movie. This Kishore Kumar song from Kati Patang was picturized on the ultimate 1970s romantic hero, Rajesh Khanna. It became one of his most iconic on-screen numbers, solidifying his superstar image. This song marked a massively successful musical era where the trio of Kishore Kumar, R.D. Burman, and Anand Bakshi delivered some of the biggest chartbusters in Indian cinema. This Kishore song for little Arjun. ASWINI ACHARYA .

The only recognition Madan Mohan got in his life time was the National award he got for the 1970 movie Dastak. The movie had just four songs. Three of the songs by Lataji had some finest lyrics by Majrooh and among the finest songs by Lata and Madan Mohan. This fourth lesser known songs is by Rafi in a voice dripping with sensuousness and picturised on Sanjeev Kumar and Rehana Sultan. Because the film's premise involves a newlywed couple (Sanjeev Kumar and Rehana Sultan) navigating a cramped, loud apartment with nosy neighbors, Rafi recorded his vocals in an incredibly soft, intimate, near-whisper tone to fit the on-screen narrative. Jai Santoshi maa a low budget film Was released along with Sholay on Aug 15 , 1975, and became a massive box office phenomenon and turned Anita guha into a living icon. Anita Guha, who played the Goddess, was so revered that people flocked to her home and touched her feet on the streets to seek blessings. Made on a tiny budget of roughly ₹3 to ₹5 lakhs, it grossed over ₹5 crores, making it one of the highest-returning investments in Indian cinema history. People traveled from remote villages on bullock carts to watch it, turning theaters into temple-like spaces where shoes were removed before entering and coins were thrown at the screen. Before the film, Santoshi Maa was a relatively obscure regional deity in parts of North India; the movie cemented her place in the pan-Indian Hindu pantheon. Songs were composed by C. Arjun and lyricis written by Kavi Pradeep. This Mahendra Kapoor song picturised on Ashish Kumar. Song courtsey Upjeet 🇮🇳

Saawan Kumar Tak initially wanted Mohammed Rafi to record the track, but due to scheduling and date issues with Rafi, composer Usha Khanna recorded it with K.J. Yesudas instead. And what a song the Gana gandharvan delivered. Sheer melody. Sajan bina suhagan also marked the prominent Bollywood debut of actress Padmini Kolhapure as a child/teenage artist. Anuradha Paudwal sings for Padmini kohlapure. Set in Raag Ahir Bhairav the lyrics are penned by Indeevar. Song courtsey Upjeet 🇮🇳

Remembering Kishore Kumar. Teen Deviyan Till the late 60's Kishore Kumar used to sing only for himself. He refused to give play back to any other actor. But he made an exception for Dev Anand. Under the music direction of SD Burman Kishore Kumar playbacked only for Dev. The musical association between Kishore Kumar and Dev Anand is one of the most charming chapters in Hindi film history. Kishore's youthful exuberance, playful mischief and effortless yodelling perfectly complemented Dev Anand's carefree, romantic screen persona. In this song romantic poetry meets Kishore 's expressive voice Song courtsey Upjeet 🇮🇳

This track from Doosra Aadmi , 1977 is one of the rare and celebrated masterpieces that brings together three of India's greatest playback legends: Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, and Mohammed Rafi. The music was composed by Rajesh Roshan, who masterfully transitioned the song's tempo to map the characters' psychological shifts—moving from slow to medium-paced, skyrocketing during Rafi's segment, and then calming back down to close with Kishore and Lata. Rajesh Roshan famously integrated electronic rhythm structures alongside traditional instruments, which was highly innovative for 1977. It starts as a breezy, upbeat melody sung by Kishore Kumar (picturized on Rishi Kapoor) and Lata Mangeshkar (picturized on Raakhee ). Mid-way through, the mood changes dramatically when Rafi enters. (Picturised on Shashi Kapoor) . Rafi's soulful and high-tempo rendition shifts the track entirely. This "late entry" is highly regarded by music critics as one of the most impactful vocal entrances in Hindi cinema history. Lyrics Majrooh. Song courtsey Sudeep SN 🚩

After Love Story released in 1981, kumar Gaurav was routed as the next major star. But unfortunately he couldn't live upto the expectations and his career was very short lived. He was cast opposite Vijeyta pandit in his debut movie. Music by RD with lyrics by AB . Those days all the nepo kids made their debut with Pancham 's music. This duet by Lataji and Amit Kumar. The film's soundtrack became a monumental coming-of-age stepping stone for Amit Kumar's playback singing career. Song courtsey Upjeet 🇮🇳
