Fun Fact: Did y'all know that 4kids and Funimation came together to produce Yugioh Uncut? All the 4kids VA's reprised their roles, the English names were kept (Even Joey and his accent), but the script and music were the Japanese version. Only 9 episodes were made.

Examples as to how they bitchified the Avatar State. 1.) Tagah twirls his magic plot staff and gives Aang's clothes little rips because of the force of the rock and air. Meanwhile Aang slams Ozai with jet stream winds capable of stripping A MOUNTAIN APART. 2.) Aang turns on these cute little hands and feet fireworks to escape a giant mountain rock thing THAT HE FAILS TO OUT RUN WITH THE AVATAR STATE. TAGAH SINGLE-HANDEDLY stops it from falling on them. Meanwhile, multiple instances of Aang casually tearing giant rocks and mountains apart controlling MULTIPLE ELEMENTS AT ONCE. 3.) Aang charges in like a Korra (dipshit) with a single element while Tagah twiddles his widdle fingers and fucking kills him in one go while Aang was looking straight at him. Meanwhile, Aang counters and DISMANTLES Ozai's powered up fire blasts with multiple elements and is in complete control. ----- "So you want a show/movie with no stakes? You don't want good writing? If the AS is too powerful, there's no conflict! It was way too broken." That's not what I'm saying. I want a show/movie with stakes and good writing. Good writing is CONSISTENT with what came BEFORE it. If you set up the AS as this incredibly powerful state that THREE FIRELORDS FEARED FOR 100 YEARS, then that is how it must remain. In the OG, Azula baits Aang into the AS and shoots his ass from BEHIND because she's smart and understands that you CANNOT fight it head on. Azula beat the AS not because she was stronger but because she was CLEVER. "But Tagah has his magic plot stick that no one from the 4 air temples that Aang visited before being frozen knew or spoke about. It belonged to an Avatar! It powers him up significantly!" Even with his dumb ass plot stick was he doing anything remotely capable of what Aang did when he fought Ozai. The Avatar in the Avatar State is supposed to be a Demi-God. You aren't SUPPOSED to be able to fight it head on. Which is why Ozai lost and could barely fight back. He controlled MULTIPLE elements at once, was in complete control and completely overwhelmed him. Ozai was supped by Sozin's commit and still lost. Tagah was supped up by some magic plot stick and some how won because the only way the writers know how to make a conflict is to take the thing that was once impossible to fight head on, suddenly lame and unable to do anything. Good writing does not mean to take cool thing and make it less cool because otherwise you don't have a story. Good writing is to take cool thing and write around it while keeping it as cool (or cooler) as it always was. Hope you enjoyed my rant.
