Gala fans, it’s time to say thank you and see you soon. These past two years have been truly special. I embraced this project at a challenging time for the club and gave everything to help place it where it truly belongs – in the Champions League. I have had the privilege of winning three trophies - two of them league championships - with friends I’ve made for life, both on the pitch and off. I am deeply grateful for that. To the incredible fans, your passion and unwavering support have meant everything to me and Cristiana. From the first day, you welcomed us with open arms, treating us like family and making us feel at home. For that, we will always be grateful. Living in this vibrant city, with its rich culture and dynamic energy, has been an absolute joy. It’s a place that is so much more than just a chapter in my professional story—it is also where my personal journey took a beautiful turn. Here, in Istanbul, I discovered that our family would be growing, that I would become a father. This place will forever hold a special place in our hearts for the happiness it brought to our lives. The “dream” is to achieve the top of professional football, but that’s not an easy task. The journey is arduous, and only a few reach the pinnacle. This path can be mentally demanding, making it crucial for these young talents to receive the right support. The Right to Dream Academy leads by example in integrating mental health support into their programs. Right To Dream’s approach includes education and life skills to help young athletes navigate anxiety, stress, and the pressures of social media. This nurturing environment ensures players are prepared for challenges both on and off the field. “The dream” is that academies like Right To Dream are not the exception, but rather the rule, in the world of football. 🌍 In the end of this first chapter of my work with @CommonGoalOrg: “Football Academies”, I want to thank my dearest friend, Juan Mata García, for his participation in this project. In academies, young players dream of becoming professional footballers. But the path is tough, and not everyone makes it to the top. This journey can be mentally challenging, and it’s vital that these young talents receive the right support. The Right to Dream Academy is one of the academies that teamed up with @CommonGoalOrg 🤝 and it’s a true example how to combine player and human development. The mission and values of the Right To Dream are incredibly important and can truly impact the lives of many young players.
