A driver has been fined £540 and given five penalty points for a dangerous close pass on a cyclist. Close passes put lives at risk and the Highway Code is clear: • When overtaking a cyclist, you must leave at least 1.5 metres at speeds up to 30mph. • Give even more space at higher speeds, or in poor weather.
