#AFG 8 years ago on this day Taliban carried out its biggest &deadliest attack of the war in the heart of Kabul. Causing 1000 casualties. The truck had over 12 tones of TNT befitted in a cement carrier truck in Pakistan, driven to Kabul to kill as many people as possible. Justice was never served to the attackers as they run security today for the very city they attacked hundreds of times. We will never forget and justice will be served.

This is what everyday life looks like for children trapped in the Taliban’s madrasa system. Children as young as 8 to 12 are flogged in front of their communities. In this video, a teacher beats them with a hard pipe while other children are forced to hold them down. These children were sent to learn and build a better future. Instead, they are taught fear, pain, and humiliation. The trauma of such cruelty can follow a child for life. What kind of society are we building when a place of learning becomes a place of violence? The end product of a Madrasa is a hateful man, a violent man, an angry man who will reflect this to the rest of the society. Our society is corrupted by Taliban it’s corrupted by Madrasa. The Taliban operate some 20,000 madrasas. Every Taliban leader who builds a Madrasa where children are abused will face justice, this abuse must stop and those responsible held accountable—including those who fund or enable it. Afghanistan’s children need protection, freedom, love, and real schools. I ask every parent, teacher, religious leader, and citizen: join hands, speak out, and help stop this practice.
