I correct few mistakes here, as I was not fully clear about this until I watched the Arappor Iyakkam video. Arappor Iyakkam gave a proper explanation of the tender and the reasons why it was cancelled. Important points to be noted: ~ Why was it a limited tender? Why not an open tender? Only a few are getting this tender and benefiting from it. ~ Without an open tender, there won’t be enough bidders, which can reduce the government’s revenue/savings. ~ Why was the tender closed so quickly? As per the Tender Act, it should be open for at least 7 days. ~ Why were 6 different tenders needed when it could have been done through a single tender? ~ What was the urgency to open and close the tender within such a short time? All these questions to GCC commisioner J. Kumaragurubaran and Mayor Priya, this has been the case even in March month
