This week, I joined Jay Bhattacharya, MD, PhD, Dr. Oz CMS, and Erica Schwartz at NIH to open a historic clinic dedicated to studying and caring for patients experiencing health problems following vaccination. We must listen to patients and families who report vaccine injuries—not dismiss or gaslight them. President Trump and I are building a health system that takes them seriously, follows the evidence, and uses what we learn to make vaccines safer. This is how we earn back trust in our public health institutions.

In Houston, I announced $96 million in STREETS grants to eight communities across America to bring treatment, recovery support, and hope directly to those struggling with homelessness, addiction, and mental illness. Faith-based organizations like Open Door Houston are already doing extraordinary work to help Americans rebuild their lives. Reports coming out of Germany show a government sidelining patient autonomy and limiting people's abilities to act on their own convictions when they face medical decisions. That is why Friday, I sent a letter to Germany's Federal Minister of Health, Nina Workin. In my letter, I made it clear that Germany has the opportunity and the responsibility to correct this trajectory, to restore medical autonomy, to end politically motivated prosecutions, and to uphold the rights that anchor every democratic nation.

BARDA is terminating 22 mRNA vaccine development investments because the data show these vaccines fail to protect effectively against upper respiratory infections like COVID and flu.
