On my first day Dept. of Agriculture, we told every state to send us their SNAP data so we could make sure illegal immigrants aren’t getting benefits meant for American families. 29 states stepped up. 21 blue states refused — and two SUED US FOR ASKING! 🤦🏻♀️ And guess what? In just the states that cooperated, we’ve already uncovered massive fraud. The Democrat Party has turned its back on working Americans and built its entire strategy around protecting illegal aliens. They know if the handouts stop, those illegals will go back home, and Democrats will lose 20+ seats after the next census. There’s a new sheriff in town. President Donald J. Trump will not tolerate waste, fraud, or abuse while hardworking Americans go hungry.

Today, just four companies — JBS, Cargill, Tyson Foods, and National Beef — control roughly 85% of the cattle processing market. That level of concentration has surged from just 25% in 1977 to 71% by 1992, and now to an astonishing 85%. Together, these companies operate through dozens of subsidiary businesses, creating a landscape that leaves many of our cattle producers with limited marketing options. For some ranchers this means less marketing opportunities, complicating an already challenging marketplace. We must work to address this to protect our ranchers and consumers. President Donald J. Trump and this administration are focused on promoting fairness and competition — ensuring our producers have options and a level playing field. 🇺🇸🥩

USDA supports 30 MILLION school lunches every day. That means 30 million opportunities to put REAL FOOD back on the menu and teach America’s children healthy habits from the very beginning AND support our great American farmers and ranchers. Dept. of Agriculture’s new State School Meals Pledge calls on governors to partner with us to make school meals healthier and bring common sense back to nutrition. Working alongside Secretary Kennedy, we also launched the Make Hospital Food Healthier Pledge at Tampa General Hospital (the FIRST hospital in the nation to sign) putting wholesome, nutrient-dense food at the center of patient care. Together, we are bringing real food back to America’s schools and hospitals and advancing the MAHA movement. 🇺🇸

When I took over Dept. of Agriculture, we found taxpayer dollars funding grants on "racial injustice" in the pest control industry, research on queer and BIPOC farmers in San Francisco, and studies on transgender menstrual cycle issues. That wasn't serving America's farmers and ranchers. So we canceled those grants, called off 900 DEI trainings, and began reorganizing USDA to refocus the Department on its core mission. That was a good start—but there is much more work to do. For too long, Washington prioritized a radical political agenda over the people who feed, fuel, and clothe our nation. Meanwhile, input costs soared, family farms struggled, and in 2023 America became a net food importer for the first time in generations. Our measure of success is simple: prosperous farmers and ranchers, a stronger rural America, lower costs, and restoring America's food security. 🇺🇸🧑🌾

🇺🇸 The New World screwworm was eradicated from America in 1966. In 2026, it tried to come back — and we were ready. That's why USDA acted before it reached our border—investing over $1 billion, ramping up sterile fly production, and preparing an aggressive response. Just 60 days after the first U.S. cases: ✅ Only 42 confirmed cases ✅ Just 9 active cases ✅ Every affected animal has recovered and is thriving Because of this progress, we're able to safely reopen the Douglas, Arizona port for cattle imports. It's hundreds of miles from the outbreak area, represents only a small share of cattle movement, and we'll continue closely monitoring conditions. There's still much work to do, and we're not declaring victory yet. But we're very close. If there's any sign of increased risk, we'll shut the port back down immediately. We'll continue doing whatever it takes to protect America's farmers, ranchers, and livestock.

Dept. of Agriculture has confirmed multiple cases of New World Screwworm in Texas. We’re moving fast and smart. Last year, I rolled out a bold five-point plan to protect American livestock and stop this pest in its tracks: 1. Invest into our sterile fly production through the construction of a massive $750M sterile fly production facility at Moore Air Base. 2. Protect the U.S. border at all costs through enhanced surveillance, sterile insect dispersal, trapping, and livestock movement controls. 3. Maximize readiness by partnering with states on emergency plans, training, and securing treatments. 4. Take the fight directly to the screwworm with increased sterile fly dispersals across the U.S. - Mexico border. 5. Innovate our way to eradication through cutting-edge research, more efficient production, better traps, and next-generation tools. We’re already executing that plan on the ground: • 20-km zones with strict movement controls around both detections. • Heightened surveillance and trapping across the area. • Millions of sterile flies released weekly, 2 million aerial drops twice a week plus ground releases in the area to break the pest’s life cycle. • Strike teams, mobile labs, and emergency treatments deployed through unified command with Texas partners. Faced with the irresponsibility of both the Biden regime and too much of the Mexican one, we needed time — to prepare, to coordinate, and to ready the infrastructure to beat what was coming. We acted, and we got the time. Now the task is to turn the tide. We eradicated New World Screwworm once before, and we will do it again!
