An interesting video features a Nigerian woman claiming that many small retail shops in Nigeria are used as fronts for illegal activity. I also know that in South Africa, some of the ‘sixty-sixty’ Uber biker riders are involved in drug peddling, especially in upmarket areas.

This Nigerian, who’s a law-abiding resident of South Africa, says he is ashamed to be identified with fellow Nigerians who have committed crimes in the country. He believes those individuals have damaged the reputation of Nigerians who respect South African laws.

Mbeki was never on the side of poor black people. His vision, in my view, was to make white-owned corporations even wealthier. Through NEPAD, he created an environment that enabled South African companies such as DStv, MTN, Shoprite, and the major banks to expand across Africa and dominate many markets. While the promise was African economic integration, the biggest winners were large corporations rather than ordinary Africans.
