Manor Lords took seven years and 70 people to make. I built it in Three.js in seven days

This post was a bit. Obviously, my game doesn't come anywhere close to the charm and immense detail of MANOR LORDS. I’ve myself put hundreds of hours into Manor Lords. This project is an open source browser game built in ThreeJS. Fork it into any themed city builder you want

Built a procedural open world with SpacetimeDB as the backend. Every terrain chunk, tree, and stone is server-authoritative. The client subscribes and the world just appears, consistent across every connected player, no REST endpoints, no polling, no manual sync logic. The database is the game server. Now to fill it with agents!

Follow-up: I'm making "Manor Lords" for the web. Yesterday, I integrated Utah teapot 🫖 SeedThree’s asset pipeline for WebGPU, then used GPT-5.6 Sol to build my own custom ThreeJS asset pipeline for buildings. Also added better looking rivers, burgage plots with frontage and residence needs, farms with actual agricultural land, terrain generation, hydrology that reads the land’s topology, wells for drawing water, taxes, wealth, civic and religious administration, beer brewing, monasteries, interregional market trading, and a simulated economy where agents use SpacetimeDB to move and store resources between building steps. Project is MIT open source and runs locally right now, but you could remake it into basically anything. Co-op city builder, online colony sim, Mars base, underwater settlement, ancient city, whatever. The foundation is there. Fork it, run it through your own agents, turn it into a web 3.0 game, mutate it, whatever.
