The reckless and unprofessional maneuvers of Russian fighter aircraft—within just a few feet of our Alaska-based fighters—in Alaska’s ADIZ on September 23 put the lives of our brave Airmen at risk and underscore the escalating aggression we’re witnessing from dictators like Vladimir Putin. These tactics stand in stark contrast to the skill and discipline of our Alaska-based service members who are on the front lines at all hours in defense of our entire country. I want to commend our Airmen for consistently and professionally executing these complex intercept missions. We need to answer force with force and continue building up America’s military presence in Alaska and the Arctic with more infrastructure, like the strategic Arctic port at Nome and reopening the Adak Naval Base, and more military assets.

A sad day in the Senate. For the first time in U.S. history, every Senate Democrat, led by Chuck Schumer, voted against starting debate on the overwhelmingly bipartisan National Defense Authorization Act. For Alaska, this is probably the best NDAA our state has ever seen: $2.6 billion in military construction and 4,000 private sector jobs. It’s discouraging to see Senate Democrats caving to the far-left of their party, but I’m going to keep fighting for our troops, for our national security, and for Alaska military projects.

Today, I received a phone call from the President, who told me that he had issued an unconditional pardon for an Alaskan who was unjustly stripped of his rights because of dangerous and ridiculous EPA regulations and overzealous prosecutors. On the eve of America’s 250th birthday, when we celebrate freedom and liberty in our nation, this is great news for one patriotic Alaskan’s own personal freedom and liberty. 🇺🇸

He laid out a remarkable vision: integrating AI with autonomous systems across surface, subsurface, and aviation—training the next generation of warfighters to dominate the future battlefield. As Chair of the Board of Visitors, I’m focused on ensuring the Academy has the resources it needs to lead and prepare our future Sailors and Marines.

Huge news, Alaska! U.S. Coast Guard is homeporting 2 more icebreakers, where the ice is—in our great state! As chair of the Senate Commerce Republicans subcommittee overseeing the Coast Guard, I’ve been leading the effort to close our nation’s icebreaking gap with our adversaries. With the Working Families Tax Cuts Act and the ICE Pact with Finland, we secured the funding to build and homeport these icebreakers. Thank you, Secretary Markwayne Mullin for helping deliver this so early in your tenure as Homeland Security Secretary. An exciting day!

Great news for Alaska fishermen and our coastal communities! The new Office of Seafood within Dept. of Agriculture is something I’ve been pushing for years. Our fishermen are farmers of the sea and deserve the same access to USDA programs our farmers have. This new office will help make that happen. Thanks Secretary Brooke Rollins and Howard Lutnick for keeping your commitment to me to create this office and Secretary Doug Burgum and NEC Director Kevin Hassett for your support for our fishermen in Alaska and across the country!

I’ve been working on this for nearly a decade. 70% of through traffic will be redirected onto the bridge, providing major traffic relief, improved traffic safety, and faster travel for Alaskans. We’re doing big things again in Alaska.💪
