Charles Bassey is a professional scorer for sure - instant buckets inside the paint, especially as a roller. His defense is a whole other story. He can deter at the rim, but he's a pure drop-coverage guy and has very little ability to contest outside shots, esp 3-point shooters. He will literally just watch dudes shoot. To me, being able to guard outside the paint in today's NBA for a big is a basic necessity for any player who's going to be in rotation if you strive to be a great basketball team, and he doesn't cover it, which severely limits his potential as a defensive difference-maker. With Porzingis already being a cone more than half the time, we can expect Warriors defense to disappoint in the upcoming season if they're going to rely on Bassey to play a big role. Watch this short clip to see examples of what I saw from Bassey last season against a stretch player on the Clippers.

I REALLY hope the Warriors run into the Thunder in the playoffs so that Curry can humble tf out of SGA. Remember this tweet if/when this happens because I promise you, the Thunder are getting SLAPPED. They lucked into playing Warriors while Kerr failed to figure out rotations.
