Prime Minister Hamza said the government has reached an agreement with Turkish investors to develop the project under a public-private partnership model. He also revealed that Qatari investors have expressed interest in investing in Mogadishu’s airport, although discussions on the proposed investment are still ongoing. Hamza said construction has also begun on a highway connecting the area to Mogadishu as part of a broader development initiative known as “New Mogadishu,” aimed at expanding the capital and boosting economic activity.
