A speech by the late Kurdish actor and filmmaker Yılmaz Güney, from Northern Kurdistan. He spent years in Turkish prisons and died in exile in Paris at the age of 47. Remarkably, while imprisoned in Turkey, he secretly directed Yol by proxy, sending detailed instructions to Şerif Gören, who filmed it on location. In this short video, he expresses his core beliefs: “Friends, Pain, oppression, poverty, blood and tears are not the destiny of the Kurdish people. We reject this destiny. We do not recognise it. We do not want to remain the children of a colonised country occupied from all four sides. We want to be the children of an independent, united and free Kurdistan. Let friend and foe alike know: we will win. We will absolutely win. Rather than living as a slave, it is better to die as a freedom fighter. Long live an independent, united and democratic Kurdistan.” #YilmazGüney #KurdishCinema #Kurdistan #KurdishHistory #KurdishResistance #Yol #FreeKurdistan #NorthernKurdistan #KurdishCulture

This is officially the Iran–Turkey border, with the Turkish side pictured. In reality, both sides are Kurdistan. Families, shared language, and shared history are divided by borders drawn by colonial powers after WWI. A natural border doesn't require this level of militarisation—an occupational border does. #Kurdistan #Kurds #MiddleEast #BorderWall #History #Geopolitics

Although Tom Barrack is formally the US ambassador to Turkey, he often sounds more like Turkey’s representative in Washington. But the problem goes beyond his political posture: he appears to lack even basic knowledge of the region he represents. He says: “All the prophets were sent to this region. Not to the Caribbean, not to South America, not to North America, not to Australia, not to China. If even God couldn’t solve it, if even the prophets couldn’t solve it, the idea that we can solve it in the next year and a half is probably very slim.” This is a profoundly reductive view of one of the most consequential regions in human history—the land of the Agricultural Revolution, the domestication of plants and animals, the emergence of cities and states, the invention of writing, the wheel, and some of humanity’s earliest maps. To reduce this region to a perpetual “problem” that even God and the prophets could not solve is not merely ignorant; it reveals a deeply distorted understanding of its history. Tom Barrack may be one of the most ignorant and compromised political figures the United States has ever produced. #TomBarrack #Turkey #Kurdistan #Mesopotamia #MiddleEast #AncientHistory #HumanHistory #Civilisation #AgriculturalRevolution #Writing #History #USForeignPolicy #Diplomacy #Zagros

Witness the plunder in Kurdish Afrin. Since Turkey's 2018 invasion, its SNA mercenaries have cut down/stolen over 2 MILLION olive trees. This video highlights the systematic destruction of the Kurdish region. A crime against nature and humanity. #rojava #Terrorism #Syria

Ali Shamkhani, the hardline Iranian regime figure recently killed in a US-Israeli strike, helped impose strict and brutal dress codes on everyday Iranians. Yet, as seen in this leaked video of his daughter’s wedding, their own lives were completely different. The hypocrisy is staggering, and it's exactly why the Iranian people see the regime as their enemy. #IranWar #Iran

On Dec 9, 2024, Ursula von der Leyen pledged €620M for Syria’s ‘journey toward hope.’ This is the ‘New Syria’ EU taxpayers fund: Jolani’s thugs are filmed here assaulting and racially humiliating Kurdish and Arab women. The reality vs. the rhetoric. Ursula von der Leyen #terrorists

Conflict of Interest in Ankara While Tom Barrack serves as U.S. Ambassador to Turkey and Special Envoy for Syria, his actions raise serious concerns. He appears to align more closely with Turkish interests than with his duty to represent American policy and taxpayers. His stance toward Kurdish and Druze has also drawn criticism, raising further questions about whose interests are being served. At the same time, troubling scenes show children in Turkish schools being encouraged to tear U.S. and Israeli flags. This contradiction demands scrutiny. The United States needs representation in this sensitive role that clearly and consistently reflects its own interests—not those of others. #TomBarrack #USForeignPolicy #Diplomacy #Accountability #StateDepartment #Turkey #Geopolitics #MiddleEast #ConflictOfInterest

This cemetery belongs to the Kurdish fighters who gave their lives liberating Raqqa — the capital of ISIS. These are the same heroes the world celebrated for destroying ISIS. Today their graves are being desecrated by Syrian forces backed by the new authorities — the very groups many call ISIS rebranded and normalized by the West. The US and Europe once armed and praised the Kurds for defeating ISIS. Today they support and fund the people responsible for this horrible work. Kurds did not fight for anyone — they simply shared a mutual enemy with the West: ISIS. Now the West watches in silence as the memory of those fighters is wiped out. This is what betrayal looks like. Kurds will remember this. #Raqqa #Rojava #Kurdistan #Kurds #Syria #ISIS

SUMERIAN IS NOT AN ISOLATED LANGUAGE! It’s connected to the modern Indo-European languages (English, French, ...). IT ALSO DIDN'T DIE 4000 YEARS AGO AS THEY CLAIM. This new historical finding demonstrated in this video, will change our understanding about history forever!

The man in the middle is Abu Qasra, now Syria's Defense Minister, calling on Kurds to lay down their weapons. Here, he’s seen with two other terrorists during his al-Qaeda days, threatening to behead minorities. Today’s Syria legitimizes terrorists and criminals.#Syria #terrorist

Modern problems require modern (and slightly terrifying) solutions. These students in Baghdad really tried to "rebrand" their school on Google Maps as the US Embassy just to get it bombed and shut down. Talk about extreme measures for a day off! #IranWar #Iran
