#NASAWebb imaged the Lion Nebula in near- and mid-infrared light just in time for #WorldLionDay. The composite view highlights the gas and dust structures sculpted by the dying star, and additional details about the dust shine in mid-infrared light:

In “an absolute surprise,” #NASAWebb has uncovered a bizarre, lemon-shaped exoplanet with an exotic helium-and-carbon-dominated atmosphere unlike any ever seen before. The finding is shaking up theories about planet formation: 🔭 🧪

Only #NASAWebb can provide such a detailed view of L1527 IRS—a star still in the process of formation. Examine this science visualization and watch material ejected from the shrouded star. Credit: NASA, ESA, CSA, R. Crawford, L. Hustak, A. Pagan, F. Summers, G. Bacon (STScI).

Every six weeks, a maneuver is planned for the James Webb Space Telescope to ensure it stays in its orbit a million miles away. It's carried out by a group of skilled engineers at the Space Telescope Science Institute. Watch as the team prepares the observatory!

Can you spot the hidden galaxy? The bright blue spiral arm of one galaxy appears to contain a dusty orange patch that is in fact an entire galaxy in itself, according to Hubble’s velocity data. Eventually all three may merge to form a single galaxy. Credit: NASA, ESA.
