Nigeria-Morocco Pipeline: Development or Dependency? The Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline is being hailed as "historic," but at what cost to Nigeria? While the project promises cross-border cooperation, it risks repeating the old cycle of exporting raw resources while domestic energy needs go unmet. True development shouldn't prioritize foreign energy security over powering our own industries and homes. We need to complete our domestic infrastructure before we build export routes for others.

Michael Langley Failed, So AFRICOM’s Launched a Psyop Against Africa On 15 July, the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) launched a new psychological operation called Drongo Company. Its stated goal is to influence Africans to act in ways that favour US interests by impersonating Africans and using social media thought leadership to shape African public opinion. This incidentally, is the exact kind of Foreign Information Manipulation & Interference (FIMI) operation that the US government regularly accuses other actors of in Africa and around the world. Whether every accusation is indeed a confession, the one thing we know for certain is that this cannot be good news for Africa. Israel-Based Covert Team Worked On Nigeria’s 2015 Presidential Election The 2015 Nigerian presidential election was a battleground for Western disinformation industry. This investigation by Manisha Ganguly shows how a covert, Israel-based team—known as ‘Team Jorge’—was actively working to manipulate the outcome behind the scenes. Using a sophisticated arsenal of over 30,000 automated bots, they orchestrated a massive propaganda campaign to distort reality and influence voters. This is another reminder that Africa is in an information war and we must interrogate every narrative especially when it's coming from the West.

While the narrative often insists that political theatre - the rented crowds, the manufactured enthusiasm- is an exclusively African dysfunction, the reality is far more damning. It is time to stop mirroring these failing Western models. Africa must look inward, cultivate its own political and moral integrity, and forge a path rooted in its own reality.

Ghanaian YouTuber Wode Maya recently climbed to the Nimba Tri-Point, where Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Liberia’s borders meet, and he had a few words to say about the historical absurdity that is Africa's ongoing balkanisation via externally-determined borders drawn at the infamous Berlin Conference of 1885. Wode Maya is a proud Pan-Africanist and a proponent of the Borderless Africa campaign alongside hip-hop superstar and fellow Ghanaian Sarkodie and many other prominent African figures. Sarkodie - Ibrahim Traore (Song Breakdown) Mainstream African artistes typically avoid mentioning sensitive political themes or names in their music for fear of rocking the boat in the politically-exposed entertainment industry. Ghanaian hip-hop superstar Sarkodie is not one of them. Escaping The Public Contract Trap While Building African State Capacity: The Examples Of Ghana And Burkina Faso Two road projects currently underway in West African neighbours Burkina Faso and Ghana have raised an interesting question about how African public infrastructure is built and whether the assumptions behind the popular existing models are wrong. The received wisdom for decades has been that roads and other public infrastructure projects are packaged into "contracts" or "tenders", which are then awarded to private business entities in a project that is perennially tainted with waste and corruption. Burkina Faso's Ouagadougou - Bobo Dioulasso Expressway and the first phase of Ghana's Accra - Kumasi Expressway have both achieved impressive levels of delivery after being assigned to the Engineering Corps of the respective militaries of both countries. These projects have proceeded with minimum fuss, maximum output and close to zero waste, which begs an important question: In a developing country still recovering from the economic and societal devastation of colonisation and neocolonialism, why does the military not play a larger role in infrastructure development, and who decided that such an important function should be left to "the market"? Burkina Faso's President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has exposed an attempt by Western intelligence agencies to introduce biological weapons into his country, showing a pattern of foreign interference that can no longer be overlooked. From the illegal 1996 Pfizer drug trial in Kano to concerns over US-funded biological research laboratories in countries such as Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Uganda, Africa has too often been treated as a testing ground rather than an equal partner. Africa Is One Market, But Not for Africans Africa has been treated as one big market for foreign goods, but Africans have been discouraged from treating Africa as one market for ourselves. The same people who tell us continental trade is too complicated have no problem moving their own products across our borders. They want access to Africa’s market, but they do not want Africa to trade freely with itself. Because an Africa that trades with itself is an Africa that becomes stronger, more independent, and less dependent on foreign imports. So when you see foreign products everywhere across the continent, while African products remain trapped inside their own countries, understand what you are looking at. Dependency by design.

African Corrupt Leaders and The Hands Behind Them Over the past couple of weeks, 2 former high level government officials from Nigeria and Ghana living in the UK and US respectively, who are both subjects of high profile corruption probes in their home countries, received legal guarantees of state protection against extradition to face trial at home. Once again, we are confronted with an issue that many in the Global North love to pretend does not exist. Africa's "fantastically corrupt" governments are always cited as the reason behind the continent's state of underdevelopment. What is deliberately omitted by the Western loudmouths who recycle this talking point and infinitum is the foundational role that their own governments play in the acquisition, transfer and warehousing of stolen African state resources, as well as the shielding and protection offered to corrupt African government officials by the same Western governments that have a lot to say about "fighting corruption in Africa." Paramilitary Infected Black South Africans With AIDS According to Alexander Jones, South African intelligence officers purposely infected Black South Africans with AIDS in the 1980s and 1990s. Jones is a former member of South African Institute for Maritime Research (SAIMR), an apparent euphemism for a g*nocidal paramilitary. Meet Dale Partridge: The New Christian Face of U.S. Imperialism Advocating European Recolonisation of Africa Whenever the clear and indisputable historical nexus connecting r*cism, col*nialism and Christianity is pointed out, two of the most popular retorts trotted out in response are that a) The historical events in question happened too long ago to matter to modern day African people and b) Christianity in Africa predates the European presence in Africa anyway. These 2 chestnut arguments do not account for the reality that modern theological reality is very much a direct product of its historical influences, and the type of Christian theology present across most of Africa is European col*nial theology, not the Coptic or Orthodox theology that is indigenous to parts of Eritrea, Ethiopia and Egypt. This theology is still heavily influenced by, or even subject to the r*cist, extractive agendas of European theologians today - many of whom retain the violently imperial, parochial ideas of their forebears. Meet Dale Partridge, lead teaching pastor at King's Way Reformed Church in Prescott, Arizona. A millennial born in 1985, Partridge's message is that Africans - or "Hamites" as he calls us - are subject to a divine curse that makes us unable to maintain our societies without European col*nialism. Partridge is far from a lone outlier in this Christian theological school of thought. His theological mentor and leader of the so-called 'reformed Christian movement" is none other than Doug Wilson, who happens to be the personal pastor of US Secretary of War and avowed white supremacists Pete Hegseth. The Spearhead commends Partridge for the unusual and refreshing honesty and lack of doublespeak in openly owning his abominable ideology which animates US Christian nationalism. The onus is on Africans to decide whether to validate the ideologies of violent anti-black r*cists with their religious loyalty or to try something new.

U.S. Defies Kenyan Court Over Ebola Quarantine Despite a court order stopping the construction of a US government Ebola Virus Disease quarantine centre at a US airbase in Kenya, the facility has been built anyway and several American citizens who were recently in the DRC are currently undergoing quarantine in the illegal facility. The Kenyan court gave an order expressly forbidding a foreign government from exposing nearly 60 million Kenyans to a deadly foreign virus, and the foreign government simply ignored the court order and went ahead to do exactly that with no pushback whatsoever from William Ruto's administration. When international alliances override local judicial orders and public opposition, we must ask: who are our leaders really serving? True sovereignty is only meaningful when a government is confident enough to say "no" to protect its people. Kangmwa Gofwen examines this infuriating story for The Spearhead.

The report examines how the marketing communications industry across Africa and the diaspora plays a pivotal role in creating and maintaining socially harmful ideas in the public imagination including racial, cultural and ethnic inferiority complexes, and the desire to "fix" or "mitigate" some aspect of African identity by spending money on consumer offerings.
