The more I watch Tarris Reed Jr, the more I realize Spurs didn't just draft a player. They drafted a solution. One of our biggest weaknesses over the last few seasons wasn't talent, it was having another physical presence who embraces the dirty work. - Rebounding. - Setting bone crushing screens. - Protecting the paint. - Winning 50/50 balls. Doing the things that never make the highlight reel but win playoff games. That's why his integration into this team is going to be fascinating. I'm more interested in how Coach Mitch's staff uses him than how many points he'll average. Because if they unlock Reed's strengths alongside Wemby Spurs become a much tougher team to bully for 48 minutes. Yo I can't even lie fr. Everybody keeps asking who should Spurs trade for? But here's the question nobody is asking what if the final piece is already wearing a Spurs jersey? What if Harper becomes the floor general everyone projected, Castle takes another leap as a two-way menace, Vassell turns into a 20+ pts sniper every night, Tobias gives Spurs the playoff toughness they were missing and Wemby finally puts together a full MVP caliber season. Maybe the biggest move San Antonio makes isn't a trade. It's internal growth. That's the scary part about this team. The rest of the league is waiting for the next superstar to arrive Meanwhile, Spurs might already be building one of the deepest and smartest starting fives in basketball. Maybe we've been looking outside the roster when the answers have been sitting in San Antonio all along.
