When I was going through chemo in 2017, going bald + down a dark spiral, the Golden State Warriors and their incredible run lifted my spirits. I consumed SO MUCH NBA via TV and podcasts. I watched nothing else (just ask my husband, he had to remind me they couldn't hear my "light coaching suggestions" through the screen 🫠). klay thompson gave this shoutout to a person he didn't know. All he knew was his PR guy had been asked by a kickass person (Kiet Do) for this favor for a #dubnation fan who was going through a really, really hard time. I literally squealed when I saw this come through. For a few minutes, I forgot how scared I was that I might not make it. I forgot about the cancer, about the disease, the mortality, the treatment side effects, and how bone-achingly tired I was. These little things like sports or shows or fill-in-the-blank can make such a huge difference - even if for just one moment in time. Sad to see the end of this era AND so grateful to have lived through this time when the core of Klay, Steph, Dray led the team to 4 championships. Special time made even more special for how it put a smile on my face through the hardest time in my life. Thank you, Klay. Good luck in Dallas.
