It blows my mind how bad the Chargers protection plan is every single week and how frequently things like this happen 👇🏼. While Bradley Bozeman is calling for a slide to their left, Justin Herbert motions Oronde Gadsden to that same side, despite there being 4 potential rushers lined up to their right side. Gadsden and all 3 IOL end up blocking nobody while 2 of the 3 defenders who actually rush end up with free runs at the QB 🤦🏻‍♂️

Pretty absurd replace and anchor from 6’9 Travis Burke at LT here. Absolutely outstanding rep by Branson Taylor against former Charger Naquan Jones as well.

Cackling at Travis Burke taking the 3Tech from one hash to the other so casually 🤣 (Davis probably houses this if he just chills for a beat and lets Spomer get out in front more.)

Nothing crazy schematically here from the Giants on third down... Burns basically gets a free rush on Herbert to stomp out the Chargers final chance at a good drive.

The most egregious interception of Justin Herbert’s career… Chargers up 13-10. Defense just forced the 5th turnover of the day. Third and 5. Fairly certain this is a clear out concept to get Oronde Gadsden free for the first down and it works perfectly. Should’ve been the easiest decision of the day for #10. Instead he decides to throw the deep post route to a player who’s been on the team for two weeks. Heck if you wanted you could’ve just popped the ball out to Mitchell in the flat for a first down. Completely inexcusable frankly from any NFL QB let alone one of Herbert’s caliber.

Would’ve been cool to see Omarion Hampton get more than 9 carries yesterday. Thought he was running extremely well, averaging 3.78 yards after contact per attempt and forcing 3 missed tackles. Having 3 capable backs is cool but #8 is still their best one by a significant amount imo. Gotta feed him.

From Albert Breer after his visit to #Chargers training camp: - Justin Herbert looks as confident as ever in Mike McDaniel’s offense - Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt look 100% healthy - Early returns on Tyler Biadasz, Charlie Kolar, and David Njoku have all been very positive - Tarheeb Still appears ready to breakout under Chris O’Leary #BoltUp

#Chargers rookie edge rusher Akheem Mesidor gets to every practice early and stays late working with asst coach Denzel Martin because he’s chasing the extra reps that the vets in his room get while he works on special teams. He’s also constantly seeking opportunities to go against Joe Alt to help prepare for the season. Love his mentality!! ⚡️💪🏼

Ladd McConkey apparently has elite short game on the golf course??? This is an insanely good out from the sand, followed up by another very impressive shot from the fringe as well.

Can't get over how bad this play call on 4th and 2.5 was. Texans LB's don't buy the fake at all (as they shouldn't), Ladd and Chark are basically running the same route which essentially leaves QJ running a less than ideal route for him 1 on 1 against DEREK STINGLEY JR. as the only real option for Herbert. Disgusting work.

Decided to re-watch the Justin Herbert masterclass vs the Vikings last season just for fun today. 4 minutes of pure darts from #10. 🎯👇

Last week, I think we saw Justin Herbert wear down physically due to the constant pressure. This week, we see him avoid a throw he usually makes due to the constant pressure. Third down after the Bradley Bozeman missed assignment in the first quarter, has Keenan Allen for a likely conversion. Feels the pressure from the left side and aborts. Armstrong gets the sack. These things all add up.

Watched Oregon TE Kenyon Sadiq last night. The blocking tape was a ton of fun. The technique isn't perfect all the time but the effort and leg drive is truly high level. Blocks like a psycho OL, particularly on the perimeter 👇
