It really is heartwarming going to Coffee4Craig with some goodies. I’ve just delivered some food. A huge thank you as always to the manager Helen, and the Communities champion Lizi from Tesco in Gorton, this food will help feed the homeless and it is a donation that the commit to every month. I’ve used some of the donation money and bought sleeping bags, I handed a few out in town within an hour. It’s so starting to get cold of an evening now and keeping warm and dry is essential. Please keep the donations coming so we can help those less fortunate ❤️❤️❤️

I’ve had a superb chat with a Head Teacher from a school in Salford, he was told about me from another United going mate. I’ve said it a million times that I “Know” my story is quite a powerful one, I have first hand experience of having everything and then losing everything in a heartbeat (Family, £100k a year job, beautiful house, 2-3 holidays a year, cars, clothes, watches) I woke up on my 40th Birthday in HMP Forest Bank and had spaghetti hoops for my tea. This wasn’t part of my plan, BUT, I was still breathing. I was released in march 2020 and quickly realised that feeling sorry for myself wasn’t going to get me anywhere, I knew what I needed to do and I set about rebuilding my life. I got a job during lockdown, I met a woman who I would later marry, i learnt new skills, I’ve been on courses, I’ve had 5 different jobs and I created “streetwise stu” Today I was told “we’d be delighted if you could come into school and talk to the youngsters” This is where I see myself, a permanent thing (in due course) educating teenagers on life’s failures and how we are tougher than we think. To say I’m happy is an understatement. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, IF YOU DONT NO ONE ELSE WILL

I’ve had a busy busy night, it’s 8 o’clock on Thursday night and I’ve still not been home after work. I got a call on my way home from a Michelle who works at Morrisons, she had a load of frozen food that was going to be BINNED, I had to collect it and then deliver it to Coffee4Craig, there wasn’t enough freezer space and I ended up taking the left over to “Woodwood Court” in Ancoats. I met a guy called Gary who helped us take everything inside and he was so greatful for this delivery. It will be shared between the residents.

I’ve just spent half an hour at “Pardieu house” in Salford. A mate of mine James Worthington had a vision to help the homeless and boy has he delivered. This place has 8 self contained apartments and it will house ex homeless women for two years. In that two years they will be helped with money management and budgeting, CV writing, job applications, cooking skills and much more. There will be staff mon-fri from the charity “Embassy” which helps the homeless community. Quite frankly this place has blown me away. These should be more of this type of initiative rolled out up and down the land to help those who NEED helping. In recent days I have posted a lot about football, that is to be expected with the Derby and all that. But this post is more in keeping with the real reason I’m on social media. In April Andy Burnham agreed to get Ian Ogden off the streets and into temporary sheltered accommodation and he delivered. I have just spoke with Ian and today he has been told he’s got a 1 bedroom flat, it’s in an area he is familiar with and it has honestly made my day. I met Ian in January 2024 on the streets of Longsight, with the help of you great people on social media we have helped him tremendously, but I’m here again asking for one more push, can we help furnish this flat? I’m sure we can, please message me if you have any ideas ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Today I did a post about the price of deodorant, it’s gone mad 🤣🤣 60k plus views. If only I can get that on a consistent basis when it comes to helping the homeless. Please share and repost this tweet as the homeless NEED more clothes etc during these cold months. A follower of mine Lee Calvert invited me along to watch Redish Villa U15’s last week and had bags of clothes that the parents had donated so a massive thank you to Lee and all the parents Today an old pal phoned me to say he’s had a clear out. I’ve known Ste Chadwick for years, he’s a staunch blue (can’t be all positives 🤣😜) and these bags of clothes will be a huge help. Thank you and PLEASE KEEO DONATING ❤️❤️

I came in to town tonight for some food, and as always I brought a bit of spare change in case we bumped into someone who needed help. As we all know the homeless situation is bleak to say the least. I think I’ve found a new “ian” if that makes sense. Poor Alex was walking round in a wet dressing gown on a cold Tuesday night and I just had to help, I’ve given her some money for a hostel and I’ve agreed to meet her in a few days with some clothes, this girl spoke from the heart and was really honest with me. I will help anybody, sometimes I need YOUR help to help others. If you can donate via the link in this message together we can help Alex improve her life and situation. These stories are all to frequent and are all equally upsetting, I hate seeing other humans in this situation. Alex is now at the forefront of my mind, I’m determined to get this girl off the streets ❤️❤️❤️

The cold wet months are approaching faster than you think so I’m leaving my dignity at the door here and asking for more of your support. Having David May with me today was both surreal and inspiring, he too is shares the same frustrations as many regarding the homeless crisis, let’s all club together and help those who need helping. Remember NEED ISN’T WEAK, NEED IS NEED ❤️❤️❤️

Another visit to Coffee4Craig this evening. This time I had 3 full bags of shoes, thanks to Lisa and her neighbour for this donation. Tonight I came with a lad called Johnno, I met him a few weeks ago and he is passionate about helping the homeless and we have been out on a few occasions of an evening and handed out some clothes,sleeping bags etc. tonight he got stuck in with washing the pots. Remember NEED ISN’T WEAK, NEED IS NEED.

So, I have some great news. Yesterday I had a teams meeting with Andy Burnham and it was really productive. During the meeting we discussed Ian Ogden, the homeless man we have helped for over 12 months. Andy has agreed to put Ian the “A bed every night” scheme. This is a great start and it will lead to Ian being properly housed at some point. We went and found Ian to tell him the good news
