A woman in a yellow dress sat beside a big tattooed man who pressed a finger to his lips to keep her silent every time the flight attendant passed. When he turned to smile at the crew she raised her palm with HELP written across it, and the attendant caught the signal without a flicker of reaction. She tipped a tray of drinks onto his lap, apologized while urging him toward the bathroom, then wedged two heavy suitcases against the door to lock him inside and walked the shaken woman safely off the plane.
