Good to know that there are some opposition MPs in Nepal who have common decency to not politicise a very tragic incident that never should have happened. NC Chair Gagan Thapa has echoed the same sentiment. Sadly, that doesn't seem to be the case for many.

Nearly 4 years ago (April 24, 2022 to be exact), Balen Shah had filed his nomination to run for Mayor of Kathmandu metropolitan city, his candidacy at that time was dismissed by almost everyone, Rabi Lamichhane then ran a popular TV news show and interviewed then candidate Balen at the day of nomination. Looking forward to now, Balen is soon gonna be PM of Nepal while Rabi the party chair and their relationship is gonna be pivotal in the functioning of the coming government. I hope both of them succeed. Still unreal that this happened but if the people decide, anything can happen.

CPN UML Parliamentary party leader Ram Bahadur Thapa thanked everyone but the Nepali people for victory of RSP in this election, it is a direct insult to millions of Nepalis who voted in this election, nearly 14 lakhs also voted for UML in PR category. Going down this road and refusing to even acknowledge reality is gonna cause major problems for UML in the future. Even Prachanda led NCP accepted the results fully.

I don't know what's happening here but looks like RSP MPs are having fun in their orientation problem. So many of them don't even know each other and all of them need to work together in Parliament for the people. Are they practicing how to clap simultaneously?

KP Oli says the security forces gave him wrong information and he had no idea what really was going on. The investigative committee should look into this claim but if this is true, then it shows how vulnerable our forces really are, and one main reason is extreme political interference.

Apparently this is from Nobel Medical College and while I don't know the full context, it is absolutely unacceptable under any circumstances to threaten our nurses and other Healthcare workers like this. If the patient party believes something wrong has happened then there is a proper avenue to complain but threatening is never the answer and those people should be punished. Also, few days ago our Health ministry issued a press release about not recording video inside the hospital but that's also being ignored. How can nurses, Doctors and other Healthcare workers work in a environment like this??

Has there ever been such a grand welcome given to a ruling party Chair of Nepal from Indian ruling party?? I don't think i remember. BJP and Indian government are placing a lot of importance on this visit for sure. Whether this visit will help enhance India Nepal ties, only time will tell.

Balen going to Sukumbasi area of Jhapa 5 and explaining people about difference between sukumbasis in KMC and in Jhapa, which makes a lot of sense actually. This kind of campaigning where you listen to concerns of voters and address them is actually good.

This is an excellent recreation of events of Gen Z protests on September 8, how the protests was initially planned, what happened in between, lack of Police preparation, then Police brutality that day which killed dozens of youths. This massacre needs to be thoroughly investigated and everyone found to be involved should be punished. It also shows how easy it is to have a peaceful protest turn violent and unruly when there is no central leadership and the mass is bigger.

Ex interim Prime minister/Chief Justice gives a grim future of judiciary in Nepal after the recent recommendation of new Chief justice but isn't it too soon to tell?? The new CJ hasn't even sworn in yet and i understand our former PM is angry that Sapana Pradhan Malla (whose entry into Supreme Court she strongly supported when she was CJ) wasn't recommended as new CJ and her close aide was also recently removed as Chair of NTNC. I will always appreciate her role as interim PM in guiding Nepal in the aftermath of Gen Z protest and also conducting a free and fair election.

Should Balen have acted a bit calmer?? Absolutely but this is why you need full context and only then you can understand why he felt he needed to do what he did. Still, he needs to be careful and his supporters too. The rest is open to your interpretation.

I also think it is quite refreshing now that we are gonna see many of these newly elected young politicians both in Parliament and also media. For the longest it was the same old politicians talking about same old stuff and frankly it was a waste time watching them. Two newly elected MPs from RSP, Sasmit Pokhrel and Manish Khanal speak here.

Well said, if only more Nepalis could understand the role of Member of Parliament, they would make better choices.

Balen is someone who clearly knows what he is talking about. I hope once the election manifesto of RSP is out, he will lay out his vision in clear terms on his plans to develop Nepal. Also, do interviews as well, have press conferences if possible. Action is important 100% but so is public accountability.
