#CentralSyria | E. #Hama: Angry Protest of the Ismaili Community in the City of #Salamiyah in Rural Hama A protest and gathering of men and young men took place in the Ismaili-majority city of Salamiyah, east of Hama, this evening, July 4, 2026, after General Security Service militias arrested dozens of Ismaili young men from the city. The arrests came after these young men had objected to Bedouin youths arriving from outside the city harassing girls from Salamiyah and filming them. When the HTS-led General Security militias intervened, they arrested dozens of young men from the Ismaili community, while providing protection to the Bedouins. A protest subsequently broke out demanding the release of the detainees and the achievement of justice and equality through the impartial enforcement of the law, without sectarian or religious discrimination. Local efforts by Ismaili community notables are underway to calm the situation.

She was found on April 30, 2026, on the side of the road in extremely poor condition after suffering torture and assault. Report on Recently Abducted Alawite Women in 2026 This report was prepared by Syria Justice Archive Syria Justice Archive following contact with a group of human rights activists, the families of the girls, and community sources. 1. Mariam Faez Sultan, Age 16 Abducted on January 9, 2026, in the Mezzeh area of Damascus (she lives in the Mezzeh 86 neighborhood, which has an Alawite majority, within the broader Mezzeh district). After contact with her family, her father confirmed she had been abducted. Strangely, he offered thanks and praise to the “General Security” after learning that the caller belonged to a team working with the UN Office of Investigations. Nevertheless, as of the writing of this report, March 8, 2026, the girl remains abducted. 2.Lana Al-Suleiman, Age 18 Abducted on March 1, 2026, in the Burj Al-Ghanum area in the city of Masyaf, Hama countryside. She was released two days later on March 3, 2026, and was compelled to appear in an interview stating she had not been abducted and had simply been at a friend’s house. It should be noted that our team and most documentation pages recently chose not to publish abduction cases, and that the girl appeared in posts on Facebook from her local area indicating she had been missing, yet none of the posts mentioned abduction. We were unable to contact her family. 3. Layal Ibrahim Abdullah, Age 25, Married Abducted on February 22, 2026, while traveling by public transport from the town of Slunfeh toward the city of Latakia to visit a doctor for a previously scheduled appointment. All hospitals were checked; she was not found. Layal was released on February 27, 2026. A documentation team contacted her family, who confirmed she had been held for four days, but refused to provide details, saying: “What matters is that she came back.” 4. Alma Elia Saleh, Age 14 Abducted at Karsana Square in the city of Latakia on March 4, 2026. After contact with her family, her mother was in a state of breakdown and confirmed that her daughter was missing, adding that they had filed a report with security forces. The girl was released one day later on March 5, 2026. Unofficial sources reported that the Coastal Police Station arrested the abductor and secured the girl’s release. 🔹Our sources confirmed that following a visit by the UN Investigation Team to Damascus, during which files on kidnapped Alawite women since 2025 were presented, the HTS-led General Security is now pressuring abductors to release the girls within days. This marks a shift from the previous pattern of denying abductions and shielding perpetrators. In several instances, units of the General Security or HTS factions were themselves involved in the abductions, as in the case of Abeer Suleiman from 2025 (cited as one example among others), who has not been released to this day. At the time of her abduction, General Security personnel in the city of #Safita contacted the abductors in Idlib to warn them that her family had filed a complaint — less than half an hour after her father and brother had done so. Over the past year and continuing to the present, dozens of Alawite women abducted since 2025 remain unreleased. The total number of abduction cases from 2025 exceeds 80 documented cases. One case from 2026 (Mariam Sultan) also remains unresolved. All cases are fully documented.

Young Alawite Woman Who Was Kidnapped and Released Shares Testimony About General Security Militia Involvement in Her Abduction A 25-year-old woman named “Hala Nawras Ibrahim,” from the Alawite community, gave testimony about the circumstances of her kidnapping and detention, along with her nine-month-old baby, at the hands of the #HTS-led General Security militias. Ms. Hala Nawras Ibrahim was reportedly kidnapped on May 17, 2025, together with her son Ali Youssef Khuzami, from underneath the Hamimim Bridge near Jableh. Hala Ibrahim: “General Security kidnapped me and my child from under the Hamimim Bridge in Jableh. They assaulted me several times before cutting my body with razor blades.” Hala: “When they sent me back to my family, they had shaved my head and cut my body with razor blades all over, trying to force me to sign a marriage contract with a General Security member.” Hala: “I heard other girls screaming in the place where they were holding me.” Hala: “They told my family to delete all the posts about the kidnapping once I was sent back after my family paid a ransom.” ----- It's worth nothing that multiple testimonies from other released kidnapping victims reportedly point to two men, Haitham Abbas “a.k.a. Salah”, who commands General Security militias in Jableh, and someone known as Hakim al-Diri, who commands General Security militias in Latakia province, as being involved in kidnapping women across Latakia province, covering for the kidnappers, and threatening victims’ families.

A live broadcast from the city of Homs on the evening of November 20 showed a number of local residents welcoming a group of terrorists who were released without being held accountable, after the authorities of the terrorist regime claimed to have arrested them to prosecute them for killing several Alawite civilians in Wadi al-Dahab in the city of Homs. The live broadcast was accompanied by the caption: “His Eminence Sheikh Sahl Junaid, may God preserve him, the Mufti of Homs, along with the people of Homs and the families of the martyrs, welcome the heroes who avenged our martyrs.” This indicates their acknowledgment that these individuals were responsible for killing civilians “as revenge,” and yet they were released.

🚨 Al-Suqaylabiyya: Footage Shows Attack by Extremist Youths from the Sunni-Majority Town of “Qalaat al-Mudiq” on the Christian Town of Al-Suqaylabiyya Footage has surfaced showing extremist youths from the Sunni-majority town of Qal’at al-Madiq storming the Christian town of Al-Suqaylabiyya, smashing storefronts and destroying the private property of Christian residents. Local sources report that the attack was carried out with cover provided by #HTS-led General Security militias, which allegedly facilitated the attackers’ entry into the town. The incident follows an earlier altercation that same evening, in which a Christian girl was harassed by Sunni young men from #Qalaat_alMudiq, sparking a confrontation with local Christian young men. In the wake of the clash, General Security militia arrested only the Christian men involved. The assailants then returned from Qalaat al-Mudiq accompanied by a mob of savages, launched an assault on the Christian town, ransacked shops, and opened fire.
