“During Operation Sindoor, heaviest cash withdrawals were happening in Poonch and Rajouri. We had taken a conscious call to ensure not even a single ATM is allowed to run dry. This was at a time when RBI was not supplying cash to that area. Even then, we diverted funds from other regions and ensured cash reached where it was needed most. I had asked our staff not to stay in those locations. Many shifted their families to safety but they themselves stayed back. They went into the field and kept refilling ATMs, hour after hour. Even today, when I recall it, I get goosebumps. They were risking their lives. When I asked them why, they said, ‘Sir, if we don’t do this, how will people survive?’ In those hours of unrest, J&K Bank’s ATMs were the only ones that had cash. No other bank could manage it. None of our senior functionaries including myself left the headquarters even when we were advised to operate remotely. That is because J&K Bank is not just a bank. It is a lifeline for the people of Jammu and Kashmir," said Amitava Chatterjee, MD & CEO of Jammu and Kashmir Bank in an interview with thestraightline.

“Kashmiri women especially mothers were psychologically conditioned to suppress their natural grief. In many cases, death of a son was framed not as a personal tragedy but as a moment of religious glory. Mourning was replaced with public celebration. Grief was silenced. Pain was politicized. At the same time, thousands of families who lost loved ones to terrorism faced a different kind of suffering. They faced economic collapse, social boycott and decades of neglect. Many women became sole providers overnight carrying invisible trauma while raising children in silence. This is not just about terrorism in Kashmir. It is about emotional manipulation, social pressure and generational psychological damage. For thirty-six years, these women endured quietly. And LG Manoj Sinha is the first person who acknowledge this resilience against terror,” Social Activist from Kashmir Anika Nazir told thestraightline in an exclusive interview.

This is what the youth of Jammu and Kashmir have been reduced to. 90 MLAs have been elected by these young people on both sides of the Navyug Tunnel yet they are forced to sit outside BJP office, pleading with the democratically elected government for age relaxation. What to expect of a government whose priority is seemingly lavish renovation of alloted government Bungalows and wailing over business rules which they have to draft and which they have failed to draft so far.

"There used to be 32 tehsils here, with 75 tehsildars. In those days, even matric-pass individuals could become IAS and IPS officers. Hard-working, educated and talented people of Jammu and Kashmir kept waiting, watching their opportunities slip away," LG Manoj Sinha and not even one single politician reacted or debutted this statement because they know, it is their contribution which is being talked about.

VVIP Racism! Gulmarg Out of Bounds for Tourists. Here’s why Gulmarg has been kept off-limits for tourists on Sunday morning. Meanwhile, CM Omar Abdullah had requested Kashmir Zone Police not to provide a Green Corridor for the CM’s convoy. Then, why is this happening now? Habits die hard. I am told CM Omar Abdullah and his colleagues are in Gulmarg. I am sure, we will soon hear some clarification on this.

CM Omar Abdullah today hit-out at Srinagar MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi. Without taking his name; Omar called him “Tees Maar Khan” and said that pollution in New Delhi affected all those braggarts who were sent to New Delhi by his Grandfather Sheikh Mohd Abdullah, his father Dr. Farooq Abdullah and him. One is forced to ask is Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi a show-off?

Gujjar-Bakarwal community has given Jammu and Kashmir far more than the online abusers are willing to admit. For generations, they have shown courage in harshest terrains and stood firmly against terrorism. They are among pillars that have helped hold this region together through its most difficult decades. My video is a clear stand against hate and humiliation being directed at the Gujjar-Bakarwal community on social media. The language being used today against this tribe does not merely insult a tribe; it assaults human dignity.

Jammu and Kashmir is purchasing power worth Rs.10,000 Crore. Of this, J&K govt pays around Rs.6000 crore from its own kitty. Revenue is around Rs.4000 crore. So, J&K govt is already giving free Bijli worth Rs.6000 Crore. Now, if 200 Units free Bijli is added to this loss making business; J&K’s Bijli purchase would become it’s major headache.

"In J&K, prior to August 5, 2019; there used to be two authorities operating side by side; Pakistan’s and India’s. If I say this, some people may feel offended, but this was the truth. You are from there, so tell me honestly; was Pakistan’s influence not present? It has reduced now but earlier, Pakistan had very strong influence there, extremely strong. How did that happen? How did they operate?," ex-DGP J&K explained what changed in J&K after August 5, 2019. For detailed interview, click the link.

Why this Drama over Age Relaxation demand of JKPSC aspirants? If democratically elected government had powers last year to relax rules; where have those powers suddenly gone? And If CM Omar Abdullah has approved the file; JKGAD should have by now settled the issue. But it seems, Yes or No; it will again be last minute decision.

Society should stop blaming government for opening-up more liquor shops. Instead, it should look inwards and ask, why have our religious institutions miserbly failed in keeping people away from drinking. Delivering hateful sermons is easy but building a community is difficult. Kashmiris are a fragmented society. Every sect has its own mosque but medicine stores across the valley tell u a completely different story.

Hate for me is Okay. But ask your leaders to learn from leaders of other indian states. In UP, i met a leader who told me he would even sit outside the home of PM and HM to get needs and demands of his people addressed. “If required I will even beg for my people,” he said.

Ex-DGP J&K R.R.Swain drops a bombshell: Just 30 lawyers of the erstwhile Kashmir High Court Bar Association controlled up to 80% of legal business; allegedly aiding enemies and obstructing government policies. State will draw red lines which no one would be allowed to cross. Those peddling anti-India narratives won’t be spared, he warned. The sad reality of so-called Separatist Politics In Kashmir Valley, if this is true. “If you would have to win a case in the High Court, 30 lawyers of erstwhile Kashmir High Court Bar Association controlled 70 to 80 Percent business. Forget the way, they were helping the enemies. Forget the way, they were frustrating policies of the government,” said Ex-DGP in a Media Conference. Interesting days ahead in Kashmir valley.

Rules for Transaction of Business have to be finalised by the NC-Led Government and after being vetted by Law Department, will go to Office of LG J&K for approval and once approved, his office will notify the same. Listen what CM Omar Abdullah said. After this, i am sure everyone will agree what i have been saying since last one month.
