In around 2020/21 the national police Chiefs Council and College of Policing published a Police Race Action Plan. The foreword on page 2, signed off by Chief Constable Sir David Thompson QPM DL and Chief Constable Andy Marsh QPM literally quotes the George Floyd incident as a: ..catalyst for the expression of deep concerns about the social injustice experienced by Black people. This was the same in the UK. Although this was a wider expression against societal injustice, it was about policing.
