🇷🇴🇹🇷 Romania’s newest Corvette 261 is set to receive Türkiye’s HISAR-O instead of ESSM The choice makes particular sense given the ship’s Turkish origin, making the integration process considerably more straightforward. This marks another step in the growing Turkish–Romanian defense partnership, while also showcasing the expanding reach of Türkiye’s indigenous air-defense technologies into NATO platforms.

NATO allies such as Türkiye possess the technical capacity to deploy more advanced missile systems with ranges well exceeding 800 km. While the procurement of the LORA system represents a new capability for Germany—one also acquired by non-NATO partners such as Azerbaijan and India—framing this integration under the “NATO 3.0” slogan appears to reflect a strategic communication effort and an aim to praise non-NATO actors rather than a fundamental shift in the allies’ capabilities

The reason behind Turkiye's intense interest in Eurofighter aircraft during its transition period was again the deployment of Qatar's Eurofighters to Turkiye. They had previously demonstrated their capabilities together in Anadolu Kartalı exercises, but after the deployment agreement with Qatar, Turkish pilots spent more time with the Eurofighters, conducted numerous joint training sessions and flights, and organized joint exercises. The arrival of Qatar's Eurofighters in Turkiye coincided with a period of escalating tension with Greece, which operates Rafales. This process also gave Turkish experts the opportunity to directly compare the capabilities of Qatar's Rafale and Typoon along with Turkish F16s. During this process, Turkish officials must have been particularly impressed by the Eurofighter's capabilities, especially its air superiority roles. For this reason, the focus shifted to the Eurofighters

It is impossible for all NATO allies to be like Turkiye. Why? This is because there are some countries within the alliance that demand all kinds of assistance without assuming any operational responsibility or join missions, and some has been engaging in hostile actions and lobbying efforts for years with the aim of hindering the progress of other NATO countries. Not only has this country failed to make any financial or military contributions to NATO, but it is also attempting to weaken NATO from within in order to hinder the progress of countries like Turkiye—which carry out NATO missions under the NATO flag from the Baltic states to Eastern Europe. Let’s turn to the other aspect of the issue: the question of being like Turkiye. Just think about it this way; What business does a country that can’t even build a cheap commercial ship have in the same military alliance as one that can produce over 50 warships including destroyers, aircraft carriers and submarines at the same time? Can the perception of power and alliance ever be the same between a country capable of delivering thousands of AG munitions in a single shipment and a country that is delighted even to purchase just 30–40 AG munitions? Can a country with only 150-170 tanks that could be considered "modern" in its inventory be the same as one that is building facilities capable of delivering 100 tanks a year? Can there be a spirit of unity between a country that can develop and fly a 5th-generation fighter jet, and build facilities to produce 24+9 KAAN fighter jets/year and a country that, upon purchasing 20-25 4th-generation aircraft, immediately thinks of provocation, illegal actions and violating treaties for expanding ? As long as NATO fails to purge own parasites within its union, other countries will be forced to walk with a burden on their backs. Without these types of freeloaders—who don’t shoulder any of the alliance’s burdens—NATO could be a much stronger military organization. They're of no use—at least we'd be spared the harm they cause. Imagine flying side by side in battle with the incompetents who crashed a plane into parked fighter jets during a NATO exercise or caused a helicopter to crash into the sea in other exercise while flying at low altitude. May God grant us ease.

With the final signature between UK and Turkiye, the following points have been clarified. ➡️The Turkish Eurofighters will be Tranche 4+(5) models and will be delivered in the future with impressive capabilities such as the ECRS Mk2 radar and LTE ➡️Turkiye will handle the comprehensive maintenance of the Eurofighters and, as part of this, will gain full authority over maintenance and logistics, including part/component production. It will also train its own maintenance personnel in the near future. ➡️Turkiye will seamlessly integrate its own munitions into the Eurofighters in future and use them at full performance. All these factors will enhance the operational effectiveness of the Turkish Eurofighters while also increasing their combat readiness rates. In this context, Turkiye is acquiring ▪️24+12 second-hand Eurofighter T3+ ▪️20+20 Tranche 5 Eurofighters Given the significant maintenance, logistical ajd operational flexibility mentioned above, I believe the +20 option package will also be activated by 2028–2029, bringing Turkiye’s total to 76 Eurofighter Tranche 5 and Tranche 3+ aircraft. Of course, this situation could lead to the cancellation of negotiations for 40 F-16 Block 70s due to Lockheed Martin’s cost policy for Turkiye. We’ll have to wait and see.
