White smoke is seen over the Cork University Maternity Hospital as a new Hickey is declared! Saoirse and her brilliant, beautiful mam are both doing very well, thank God. The staff of this place are immense. Every parent and child should experience these sacred moments in the safety & serenity we did - not in tents with no medicine, and hell & horror raining down on them from the skies. 'Saoirse' means freedom in Irish, and my only wish for her when she grows up is that she tries to do her little bit for the unfree & oppressed wherever they may be 💚

An honour to speak at Al Jazeera Forum - منتدى الجزيرة, particularly to share a platform with Head of Hamas abroad, Khaled Mashal. The pro-Palestine / pro-humanity movement must fight much harder against attempts to erase the Palestinian resistance from the conversation. There would have been no route to peace in my country until the British state legitmised the Irish resistance and began a dialogue with them. The Hamas hysteria in the West is propagated by those who don't actually want peace & justice.
