Look at the block from Marvin Harrison Jr. on Jaylin Noel’s explosive play off the option route. Also ran a good route himself and was open on the curl.

CJ Stroud when asked about Andre a Johnson’s comments about his body language: “I don’t really have a comment for it. I respect Dre as a person. I appreciate his critiques, but I’m focused on this week trying to go 1-0 against the Bengals. I respect Dre and if that conversation needs to be had it will be had.”

Spencer Brown: “I told Bradley [Chubb], I can’t wait for us to get the ball first, they’re gunna defer, we’re gunna go down there & score & I’m gunna sit on the bench & watch our defense play. I’m super excited to see what they can do, I think Jim Leonhard’s got them in a good spot .”

Ultimately doesn’t matter, Texans lost & probably still would have lost and Bengals deserve credit for beating them but curious if people think this is OPI or not on the Ja’Marr Chase TD on Derek Stingley Jr.: 🎥 Harrisonthecomedian IG

DeMeco Ryans to John Harris on if he considered a long Ka’imi FG over the Hail Mary vs the Colts: “I did. Frank Ross was in my ear like ‘Coach, 70 yard kick let’s do it.’ I’m like ‘really?’ It’s like ‘ah I think I’ll let CJ throw it up there.’”

Soft ass behavior by Creed Humphrey to run up on Pitre like this for a clean hit. Kelce & Mahomes were whining to Pitre after too. Don’t like it? Don’t throw him the ball there then. It’s fucking football.

Jonathan Allen to Dexter Lawrence: “Bro they can’t run the ball up the middle.” Literally anyone with any common sense knew this would be the case yet Caley came out from the jump spamming duo right at Lawrence and had little to no rushes on the edges lmao

Nico Collins on Jayden Higgins: “That boy a dog. Got all the tools in the world. Dude is gunna be the face of this franchise one year. His playmaking ability, his size, he got all the tools in the world. I can’t wait to see him rock out this year, it’s gunna be exciting.”

Hands down one of the best exchanges between reporters and an NFL head coach I’ve ever seen, featuring Titans HC Robert Saleh and the local media. What started as a simple question about the complexities of Saleh’s zone defense and why there might be some early growing pains turned into nearly seven minutes of incredible insight. Saleh explains why the system takes time to learn but can eventually produce top-five defenses. He breaks down how players learn to attack offenses by understanding what they’re trying to do to them, rather than simply dropping to a spot and defending grass. He also dives into the evolution of his defensive philosophy, drawing from his experiences around Pete Carroll’s Cover 3/Legion of Boom system, Vic Fangio, Monte Kiffin and others. He discusses the key positions that make the system work, his overall philosophy on defense and so much more. I’ve heard DeMeco Ryans speak glowingly about Robert Saleh, how brilliant he is and how instrumental he was in DeMeco’s development as a coach. But I don’t think I fully appreciated what he meant until watching this. Just an incredibly bright defensive mind. And what makes this especially fascinating from a Texans perspective is that DeMeco is essentially building and running a variation of that same defensive philosophy, with some of his own wrinkles. It’s particularly relevant right now given Houston’s struggles with defensive communication and executing its coverage rules. Saleh provides some excellent perspective on why these systems can be so difficult to master, how players eventually develop a deeper understanding of what offenses are attacking, and why that understanding allows them to play faster and more aggressively. Must watch.

CJ Stroud had plenty to say about Marvin Harrison Jr. during Bleacher Report’s 2024 NFL Draft show, shortly after Harrison was selected by the Cardinals. On Harrison’s route running and awareness: “I’ve seen Marv in practice, and that’s where you see guys who are great be great most of the time. When catching the ball, I’m telling you, he does this thing. Before the ball gets to him, he’ll move his body suddenly, the DBs will go to his inside hip, and he’ll shake out. He feels guys behind him.” [Micah Parsons jokingly interrupts: “Pause.”] On whether Harrison would become a Pro Bowler or All-Pro: “You can’t say that right now. You gotta let him be him. I think that’s one of the weird things we do. Let him go and figure it out, figure the NFL out.” On what he would tell Kyler Murray about the receiver he was getting: “He’s getting somebody who’s finna win off the LOS, somebody who can open up and stride deep ball. Usually is a body catcher, which I don’t think is a bad thing in the NFL, but can hands catch. Just give him a chance. He’s a guy you give him a chance, he’s finna do special things. “My big challenge is the OC. Find ways to get him one-on-one. Find ways to get him to show his route running. Not even show it, but dominate in it. “I’m so excited for him. I called him last night, talked to him this morning. One thing about Marv, never gets too high, never gets too low. That’s a great thing to have. “As his career kept going, he kept developing his personality on the field. He’s a dog, bro. He might not yell and talk and do a bunch of stuff, but he’s felt.”
